i. settling in
[Wanda has few personal belongings to unpack before she takes off to explore the ship. She still finds life in space uncomfortable, but the Twin Roses feels a little less sterile. Maybe it's the many windows (which she does pause beside to just stop and stare at the stars). Maybe it's all the greenery in the cargo bay. Or maybe it's just knowing that she definitely has friends here and other people like here.

She can be found all over the ship investigating and trying to get her bearings.]

ii. reunion [closed to Vision]
[When she had last left him, it hadn't been any big deal for him to carry her when the team jumped out of the Quinjet (safer that way, Vision could keep them afloat and she could shield them if needed). And she knows he knows what a hug is, and it's been two weeks without being in the same room as someone from home, so maybe she can be forgiven for rushing forward and wrapping her arms around him the moment she sees him.

Two weeks is a long time for a telepath to be surrounded by strangers. It's surprisingly draining.]

I missed you.

Wanda! [Kitty says her friend's name warmly even if they're still building the friendship she remembers. She doesn't let herself get too caught up in that or she tries not to at least. There are too many enemies in the world not to embrace friends when you can. She does stop short of a physical embrace though. She doesn't want to overwhelm her. It's probably hard enough having so many more minds on this ship compared to the Tourist. She just joins her in front of the bank of windows she was looking out.] It's official, right? You transferred over? [Not that she wouldn't have been happy with just a visit too.]

[Wanda grins and nods. She wouldn't have minded a hug from Kitty - being surrounded by strangers is more draining than people she knows, even if she hasn't known Kitty for very long this time.

This time. What a bizarre concept.]

That was...faster than I thought. I thought they would put us on a shuttle, not teleport us around again.

Did we forget to warn you about that? Yeah, they're big fans of just tossing people around. On the plus side, you get more pudding that way? [Confetti too though.]

What do you think of the ship so far?

I think I will be finding confetti in my hair for a week. But at least there was chocolate.

[Wanda smiles.]

It's...nice. The cargo bay is amazing.

So many things can be forgiven when chocolate is on the line. Maybe I should transfer just to get another one. Two when I transfer back. Except then Vash would be the only captain and no one needs that.

[She smiles.] Vision and Anders did a lot of work on it. [And then Kitty and the others did their best to maintain them with they both left.] It's nice Vision gets to enjoy it. If you mean the garden. If you're more into the exercise equipment that was just an upgrade we got once. [or the extra bed or the pinball machine or the shuttles. Their cargo bay is pretty hopping.]

[ Sara approaches Wanda while she's gazing out a window, standing beside her with a drink in her hand ]

It's kind of beautiful, if you don't think about it too hard.

These aren't my stars, but they're still beautiful.

[If there's one thing she's learned, it's that you have to find your silver linings wherever you can.]

Decent, given the circumstances. What about you? You got stuck with us, huh?

Kitty and Vision talked me into it. And I wanted to be closer to someone I know from home.

Which one? Kitty or Vision?

[A little disoriented from the automatic transfer? Sure. But not so much that he doesn't instinctually hug Wanda back and tuck his chin over her head. He has definitely learned how to hug at some point, and for the first time in a while he feels fully at ease.]

I'm sorry it took me this long to meet up with you, Wanda.

[Not wanting to make things awkward, he releases his grip on her and instead looks down at her, smiling and perhaps still holding her hands.]

Welcome to the Twin Roses. Would you like the tour?

[That's two of them, then, and Vision might be able to feel Wanda noticeably relaxing before he pulls away.]

It's all right. You're here now.

[She smiles warmly, and it's definitely all right if he keeps holding her hands. Wanda's always been a tactile person and she really does appreciate physical reassurance.]

Show me whatever you like.

[Oh good, because he does feel reassured by that bit of physical contact as well.

But now comes the hard question - show her the cargo bay first or last?]

Some of it has changed since it was my Windrose, but much remains the same. Shall we pick out our bunks first?

[He used to have the Captain's cabin, of course, but there were enough free bunks now - and they were much more spacious than the shared barracks all the ships had originally had that he doesn't mind having one of the regular crew bunks at all. He'd just have to acquire some art and perhaps a few new plants.

He leads her out from the bridge to the main hallway of the ship. It's one of the models that's designed with a single long corridor, broken up here and there with the various common rooms and hatches down to the bunks. And the windows - all over the ceiling, the sides of the rooms, anywhere there's space for them.]

[Wanda's willing to let go of one of Vision's hands so they can walk, but she's not ready to release him completely. The simple contact is too comforting.

There's still confetti settled in her hair but Wanda hasn't noticed yet. She nods in response to his question, calling the small bag with the few extra clothes she's acquired to her free arm.]

I should probably find a place for this.

[Of course, they don't quite get there before Wanda's gawking at the scenery. The windows are amazing - space really is beautiful, and for a brief moment she can almost forget they've been kidnapped.]

It's a view I don't tire of. [It's so much more clear here, through only translucent windows, than it is from the hazy atmosphere of Earth. Some people don't like being reminded of the infinite void between stars - Tony still had nightmares about it sometimes, even if he didn't admit it aloud (which meant little to someone who was BFFs with the security system AI) - but Wanda had never struck him as someone who would see the loneliness instead of the beauty.]

Kitty has told me there are four free crew bunks she's marked with a bit of ribbon so we can tell them apart from the occupied ones. And--er, I didn't remember to ask before, but what augment were you assigned? I'm Engineering, so I'll have some space near the engine room for my work.

[Vash makes it a point to meet his new crew. Even if he looks incredibly casual dressed in a large red sweat and jeans. Completing the look with black leather gloves and boots.

He smiles brightly when he catches Wanda looking out one of the windows.] They're beautiful, aren't they?

It almost makes this worth it.

[Finally she tears her gaze away to look at Vash.] Does it still surprise you?

[goldenglasses]

Being out in space? [He chuckles a small laugh.] A little bit. [When his first space trip ended so violently he honestly never thought he'd travel the stars again.] I think the upgrade to the windows has been one of my favorite upgrades to the ship.

It feels less cramped. I think it will be hard to look away when we start moving again.

[No offense, Tourist, but being moved to the Twin Roses was a definite upgrade.]

Well, it's not like there's all that much to do between planets. Getting lost in the view wouldn't be that bad as a way to pass the time.

[Makie runs into Wanda in the hallway as she leaves her room, shamisen tucked under one arm, and her brow furrows a little at the sight of an unfamiliar woman. Then she gives a small bow.]

Hello. You're... new? Or visiting?

[She's not so good with checking the roster.]

[That's an interesting-looking instrument. Something from Earth, she thinks, just something Wanda's never seen before.]

Transferred. [So new but not...brand new.] I'm Wanda.

[It's not commonly seen outside of Japan.]

Hello, Wanda. I'm Makie. [Her full name is a mouthful, so for crew it's just the short version.] I'm not very good with technology, but if I can help you with anything else, please let me know.

[Kitty will be pleased. She was complaining there was a lack of women for a while.]
