[Vash has been spending the last couple days sleeping, but once he's feeling a bit better he's up and about the ship again. Only he's dressed a bit differently as his iconic red jacket is missing. Instead he's wearing a big, baggy red sweater, a pair of jeans, and his normal leather gloves and thick boots. So he's still completely covered from his neck down to his toes.

He also still wears his hair in it's normal spiky fashion and his smile is always on his face.

The first thing after getting out of bed he does is to give his large silver pistol a good cleaning. After that Vash will typically be around the lounge practicing his harmonica this month. Or find him in the pilot seat updating the map and planet guide book he's been keeping to document the fleet's travels. Or when he's really bored he'll be shuffling a deck of cards.]

[Following the sounds of harmonica-playing brings Pavel right to Vash, which doesn't really surprise him even though he did not know that Vash played the harmonica. While seeing Vash isn't his only reason for being on the Twin Roses--turns out that a huge chunk of his Fleet friends live here--he was hoping to. Kind of. He has a paperbag-wrapped gift to give him, anyway.]

Vash, hello. [Vash isn't offended by the way that 'v' turns into a 'w' when Pavel says his name, right? Right.] Am I interrupting?

[If Vash did mind the way Pavel said his name he would never say so. Truth was he didn't mind in the slightest. He stops playing to sit up with a smile when he spots Pavel enter the room.] Oh hey! Not at all. Just wasting time. Come on in and have a seat if you want. [He moves to stand and great his visitor with a handshake and a smile.]

[Oh good, this doesn't look like it's going to be awkward! He's immensely relieved.]

I will do that, thank you. [He shakes Vash's hand and offers the paper bag with the other. Spoiler, there are donuts in there. Or something close to donuts. They're in space, you know.] A gift, to apologize for doing nothing about your broadcast on the planet.

[Which Vash is in no way obligated to talk about, but there's the opening if he wants to take it.]

Oh! [Vash noticeably winces a little bit. Feeling just a tad embarrassed as he rubs at the back of his neck.] Ah, well, you know-- you really didn't have to get anything and it all worked out in the end anyway and- [Just going to open that bag now as he rambles on about how Pavel really didn't need to worry at all.]

[His eyes immediately light up as soon as he spots the treats inside.] On second thought, you really should have! [Shoving one into his mouth as he continues to talk even with his mouth stuffed full.] Mmmhmm! If this is you're way to say sorry then by all means! Never reply to any broadcast I ever make again!

[Not talking about bad experiences it is! Pavel can respect that.

He can also forgive Vash's awful manners since his enthusiasm is rather rewarding. Who knew that a little research and a run to a convenience store would have such a payoff?] I will be sure not to. [That's probably not true.] So the rumor that you like these are true?

Mmhm! Who doesn't love a good donut? [He bites into another one and holds the bag out towards Pavel.] Want one? [He's actually not the worst at sharing when he's not personally trying to piss someone off.]

It would be rude to refuse. Thank you. [He helps himself to one since he has never not wanted a donut in his life.] These are good--not as good as the ones at home, maybe, but that's to be expected. Donuts originated in Russia, you know.

Did they really? I had no idea! [He looks at Chekov with a new sense of awe and respect.] So where you're from invited vodka and donuts?! [WHY WASN'T HE RUSSIAN! Oh yeah, that born out in space and not human thing.]

[Pavel is a bit taken aback when Vash goes and believes him. Doesn't everyone know not to take him seriously when he's talking about Russia's accomplishments? WHAT DOES HE DO NOW?]

Well... the pyshki in Petersburg are a little different. Lighter, and more crispy. Maybe we will find something more like them on our travels.

[It doesn't help that Vash had only a limited study of Earth so he doesn't see any reason for what Pavel says to not be true.] If you do find something like it I would love to give them a try.

[Aw, donuts are gone. It's so sad!]

[It's going to be a real challenge, but he will try very hard not to abuse Vash's lack of Earth knowledge.] You will be the first person I come to with donut-related discoveries, I promise.

[Since things are going quite well and Pavel doesn't feel as awkward around Vash as he had anticipated after learning that he's seeing Kitty, it seems like a fine time to potentially ruin everything. Why not!]

If I may ask... how is your romantic venture going? [Not something he would ask if he knew that Vash knew about his own history with Kitty!]

[It's a good thing that Vash had finished eating his donuts. He nearly chokes on the air alone as Pavel asks his question.]

Oh. You know... it's going. [Guess who has been told.]

[Remy raised a brow at the offer for cards. It was always a temptation for him, and no doubt he and Vash had had a few hands in the past, either between busy moments at the bar or on the ship.] Oh yeah? What's ya fancy? [Remy would even be kind enough to not cheat since it was all for fun after all.]

Hopefully something more sophisticated then go fish? [He snaps the cards back together with a grin.] Ever play five card rock-- [No wait. That's not how most people call it. What was it again?] Uh, I mean five card stud?

So pick up 52 out of the question? [Also, go fish was great... mostly when playing against those younger, but still great.

Pulling up a seat so he could also get comfortable, Remy waved a hand to indicate for Vash to deal.] Works for me. Friendly, or we bettin'?

Not unless you want to be the one picking the cards up. [Vash smiles; giving the cards one last shuffle before dealing out a couple cards with one face down and one face up.] I don't know. You alright with me not spending my money on upgrading this ship if I lose? [As that's what he's been spending his money on.]

When I throw them, cher, I don't need to clean them up, they do that by themselves. [Though, lets avoid explosions in such an enclosed space like the ship, huh?]

Well, I mean, if ya usin' it for such a noble cause like that, then how could I ever take ya credits 'way for ya. [Yeah, just as likely as Remy's money goes towards it...]

How about chores then? [Because there's got to be some stakes to be interesting.] Or dares.

[Hmm, that could be handy.] Only on board, or at the bar as well? [Dares? Meh, less interesting, but getting out of washing dishes, much better.]

I suppose that would depend on how good you think your hand is. [He says this with a wink. Meaning; yes. He was willing to bet work at the bar too.]

'm hands be 'mazing', thank ya very much. [Yes, he knows that's not the topic, but he can't help but make that bad joke.] Ok then, how this, let's start with two nights of clean up after shift.

[Vash bites his tongue to keep himself from laughing at that terrible joke.] I think that sounds like a good ante to me. [Vash finishes shuffling and sets the deck in the middle of the table.] Care to give it a cut?

Think I can do that. [And he won't even try and cheat. This was for fun, after all, nothing serious or really at stake. Plus, it was a nice way to burn up time. Reaching out, he cut as requested before leaving them back in Vash's care.] Ya a gamblin' man back home?
