[Biffy comes on screen with a smile as he nods his head politely. Behind him one can see his lovely looking hair salon...the Maison de la Lune.]

Good evening. Given the fact that we are now in the season of Autumn, I felt that it was time to offer a special at my salon for all who wish to partake.

[He steps aside to wave at the interior behind him. It really is very lovely. Elegant even in the simplicity of it. Biffy had really gone out of his way to make sure that the interior design is very classy indeed.]

For this month, I wish to offer a special on makeovers. This will include a hair styling, as well as a scalp massage and a facial. For those interested in cosmetics, I am pleased to say that I can provide makeup for this as well.

[He turns back to the screen.]

I look forward to your patronage at the Maison de la Lune. Thank you.

Maison de la Lune

[Sure enough Biffy is at his shop a lot more this month. (Please don't mind the evenings he isn't. He's probably down on the planet running with his mate.) And whenever he smells someone approach, he is there to greet them with a smell and an impeccable bow. Here in his shop he isn't a Communications Officer, he isn't an Alpha, he isn't a Lord. Here he is just the humble keeper of this salon who is ready to take care of his customer.

So it is with that bow that he will look up, that twinkle in his pretty blue eyes.]

Good evening. May I offer you some tea and you can tell me how I may serve you this evening?

[Ulaz might not have thought twice about the announcement when he saw it. Yes, he did appreciate that Biffy had his salon and that he was quite happy with it. It gave him something productive that also served a purpose and made others happy as well. But he had never really considered anything like that for himself.

But Lyall had also seen Biffy's announcement and Lyall had sought him out, insisting that he go to the salon. It had taken some persuasion - Lyall really was far stronger than Ulaz would have thought for someone of his size and build - but it wasn't much later that he found himself walking into Biffy's salon this evening]

Good evening Biffy. I would appreciate some. Lyall suggested I come see you.

[He looks thoroughly amused now.]

Oh? Did he now?

[He waves for him to come and have a seat while he goes to get him some tea. Really he's not sure what to do with this hair style so this gives him a chance to think it over.]

And was he quite insistent about it?

He did.

[Ulaz took a seat in the offered chair while Biffy went to get the tea. He wasn't sure there was much that could be done with it either, but at least he could honestly say that he had gone]

He was very insistent. I'm surprised he didn't follow me to make sure I actually came.

[Or did he?]

Are you sure he didn't?

[Biffy has no intention of revealing one way or the other. However, the twinkle in those blue eyes shows how amusing he finds the whole situation.]

[Handing him the cup of tea, he moves to stand behind him.

And then lowers the chair as far down as it will go. Biffy is not a tall man.]

I cannot be sure he didn't. The Iskaulit is more noisy than the Blameless.

[Meaning he couldn't hear if someone had been following him. He had good hearing with those ears.

Ulaz took the offered tea, already expecting Biffy was going to have to lower the chair. And he was right. Even seated, he was still taller than the werewolf was likely used to working with. It was a little awkward, but he wasn't going to say anything. He had come to Biffy after all]

He's also guaranteed to be quiet when he doesn't want you to know. We actually make our footsteps intentionally audible on the ship to ensure we don't startle anyone.

[Werewolf life. The gentleman werewolf life to be precise.]

You know, I think I know what I can do with your hair. A small trim and then something I can put in it. It will make it smell nice and take away some of the fluff to make it go better with your more angular features.

[Interesting... very interesting. Being someone who snuck onto an Altean ship and wandered around unnoticed for a good few dobashes before being noticed, he certainly knows how to be quiet too] And this is a trait of all werewolves?

I will trust your judgement on it.

I think it is more a trait of the supernatural in my world. However, with Lyall's age and my own skills added to my being an Alpha, we are quite the stealthy pair when it suits us.

[He smiles and waves for him to follow him.]

Please join me at my other chair. I will give you a wash first.

[Ulaz hadn't noticed it before - not completely - but now that it had been said, he was sure there had been a time when he had been in the lab late in the evening when most of the crew was going to bed, but the werewolves were just starting and seen either Biffy or Lyall about their duties through the door he usually kept open and wondered where they had suddenly come from, not remembering hearing them. He'd probably written it off to being focused on what he was doing in the lab. Maybe he had been distracted, maybe it had been their supernatural quietness. After the fact, there was no way to tell.

But he got up, following Biffy over to the other chair]

I will admit, it has been a while since anything has been done with it.

Given the fact that there's not really obvious signs of growth, that's impressive.

[Cupping the back of Ulaz's neck, he easily supports the Galra as he lowers him down to the basin. Like this, he rolls up his sleeves the starts the water. It really doesn't take much but even a little bit is helpful here.]

I'm sure I can do something with it though.

I can also tend to some of that myself. It's not like I have much to worry about.

[Having what they called a mohawk of white hair wasn't too difficult to manage]

I would appreciate whatever you can do.

[He smiles down at him then starts to wash his hair, letting the warm water move over his scalp before massaging the skin with expert hands. Of course he washes the hair too but since there isn't much of it he settles for putting his attention elsewhere.]

[Not much hair, but its worth the effort all the same. It's... strange. He hasn't let himself do something like this in more years than he can remember so someone taking care of him is not something that he is used to. He close his eyes after a moment, letting Biffy do this]

[Skilled fingers find pressure points to help Ulaz to relax more before he rinses the shampoo away and conditions the hair. He even adds and oil to help keep the skin around the hair nice and soft to the touch.

When he's done and everything is rinsed away, he gently towels his head before helping him to sit up. With a wave of his hand, he smiles again.]

Please rejoin me over here and we'll get to work.

[Well... one can't claim Biffy doesn't know what he's doing. It feels good and while he wonders inwardly if all of that is necessary, he did agree to let Biffy do what he thought best so he's not going to saying about it, just let him do it.

At the prompting, he gets up again, following Biffy over to the other chair]

Was this something you did back home?

Not professionally. However, I did always enjoy doing it with my former master and with the wife of my former Alpha. No, back home I actually sell hats.

[And he loves that very much.]

Hats?

[He's oddly surprised by that for some reason. He has no frame of reference, but it seems odd]

You are a werewolf that sells hats? Is that common?

Not at all. Werewolves commonly prefer occupations that are more...masculine in nature.

I see. I gather you like your job. Do you make them as well or just sell?

I far prefer to sell them. Now that I am a werewolf, a great deal of my artistic creativity is gone.

Hmm... a shame that it seems to do. Were you very creative before?

I was. It's what is often the hint that someone would be suited to becoming immortal. Someone with a lot of creativity in the arts or even in the sciences implies an excess of soul which is what is needed to become a vampire or werewolf.

Hmm... makes me wonder what faculties are specifically controlled by "soul" as well as what controls it. Obviously it manifests as creativity, but it makes me curious why some people and not others.

It's not an exact science really so no one is quiet sure what exactly is the true indicator. However, those with high amounts of creativity have been known to have the highest rate of successfully changing.

Interesting. I'm sure trying to figure out what is needed for a successful change is something many are curious about in your world.
