It's Party Time [ Open ]
Who: Jim Kirk & You!
Broadcast: Nope
Action: Yes, Planet-side @ Alloy Lake
When: Sometime in the evening
While it wasn't broadcasted, between how many people were told and the fact it wasn't exactly a private affair on a very public beach, anyone was welcome to come to this little shindig. Kirk's feelings were mostly that they all could use a break and a chance to relax together as friends, family, teammates, or any other word you chose to assign to the relationships you had on the Fleet. It was a nice break from working in projects too. It was nice to have something to occupy yourself in a creative and useful way, but it was always a good idea to take a break and refresh the brain now and then.
Which was how he came to the idea of a party on Alloy Lake.
He scouted a scrap of land near the water to set up on - beach towels, a cooler with drinks, a mocked up grill to cook some food. He went out later in the afternoon to start with more than enough light to enjoy some swimming, though it would be dark soon enough for certain members to join without being uncomfortable. At which point, a bonfire was built. What? A lack of sunlight is never a reason to stop partying! Especially not with such good company.
[ ooc: It's a party on the beach! Make your own starters and have some fun! There's drinks - alcoholic and non - food, a couple of games or make your own, a bonfire later in the night with of course means some kind of smore, swimming, and more. In terms of invite, you can assume you were directly told by Kirk, or told by someone else, or the grapevine. It's open to all, so don't worry to much about it. Have fun! ]

Taako
[Hell yeah, beach party. It might be a trash beach and a trash planet, but the beautiful color of the water was distracting enough to pull the attention away from the rest of this disaster world. Also, the company was good and-- Oh gods, someone else was in charge of the food. Taako really wanted to take over, but since it wasn't his job? He was going to let it be.
Besides, he had something more pressing to do - sunbathing. Taako has a towel spread out at one of the prime locales to overlook the water and he's sunning himself in a pair of blue swim trunks and an orange crocheted cardigan folded up next to him. He's got a pair of sunglasses on and a drink in one hand. When he notices someone move by him, either just passing by or standing at his side, he lowers his sunglasses.]
Can I help you or are you just enjoying the view?
Nighttime
[With the sun gone and the bonfire going, Taako's changed and wearing something more normal for him. He still has his swim trunks on and the orange cardigan, but beneath that he wears a flowing blouse to keep the chill off. It helps that the bonfire is so nice and warm. He's not exactly in the midst of the party, but he's there, watching everyone have fun. It's so strange, watching everyone just enjoy themselves like they aren't all millions of miles from home.
Unpleasant thoughts keep invading when he's alone and he closes his eyes. Maybe this party just needs a little entertainment to keep him preoccupied. He jumps up from his seat and then goes toward the end of the area they're on. Why not light up the night with a little fireworks? Harmless illusions, but he sets the night sky alight with multi-colored fireworks, sparklers, and lights.]

But then Lup happened and a bucket of water was dropped on his head.
Taako leapt up from his towel and whipped around, looking for where that came from as he wiped water from his eyes. ]

He flips her off in return and then disappears from view - or at least the real one does. He casts Mislead and his double runs at her, going for the bucket. He knows she probably has True Seeing, but even if she does, whatever - she knows he's coming for her now.
Once invisible, he dries himself off and heads for the cooler of ice. He scoops a handful and heads in her direction for real this time.]

What's the matter, spacecat got your tongue?
no subject
It got in my mouth, Lup! I'm going die from alien water!
no subject
[She's paying proper attention to the double now, though she might not entirely be cooperating as far as being led. Might be taking a bit longer than Taako would like, but eventually she's pushed in that direction.]
no subject
You first.
[And then he Blinks and disappears into the Ethereal Plane to get out of her immediate reach.]
no subject
You want ice!? I'll give you ice! Get back here, chickenshit!
[She scoops up a piece of the discarded ice cubes and a white stone from the beach, stalking back and forth across the sand as she waits for him to reappear.]
no subject
You started this!
no subject
It's not made to cause damage - she's not going to try and duel him this early - but a snowball is still a snowball.]
How dextrous you feeling, Flip Wiz!?
no subject
[Still, it's not exactly easy to dodge freaking snow and while he manages to miss the worst of it, he still gets hit once or twice. Taking shakes himself off and sweeps his arm up, casting Gust of Wind to send the fallen snow right back at her. Fuck that's cold!!!]
How about you?!

daytime
[Almost everything about this planet is pretty much, yeah, garbage, but at least Alloy Lake is pretty and Felix has a certain nostalgia about beaches.
He's (just) come to a stop beside Taako partially because yes, he's looking at the lake - that's definitely what "enjoying the view" means, right - and partially because he's looking around for a good place to put down his own towel.
Felix is...not completely dressed for the occasion or location. Long, light pants and a tank top? Yes. Anything resembling swimwear? No. Anyway, now he's looking down as he's being addressed, with one eyebrow just slightly raised.]
no subject
Take your pick - either of these views is pretty fantastic in my opinion.
[He lays back again, pushing his sunglasses back onto his face with a grin.]
no subject
Again, though: sure.]
I mean, I was looking at the water.
[Which isn't to say that the alternative view is bad. He's just being a little bit...difficult. Which comes across in his tone, the way it's a little wry and definitely knowing.]
Although considering that I've been standing here for all of a couple seconds, I haven't really gotten that much of a chance to look at either.
no subject
Look all you like then. The water's nice - although you might want to change if you're considering going in. And I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.
no subject
Pretty sure I'm going to stay on the shore, but thanks for the advice.
[He's quiet for a few long moments, but...whatever. Taako did start this conversation, right? So he can't be annoyed if Felix continues it.]
You must be pretty new, I don't think I've seen you around.
[Because Taako is distinctive!]
no subject
Taako is almost dozing in the sunlight when he hears the conversation pick back up. His long ears twitch and a smile spreads on his face.]
Mmmhmmm, just arrived. Thought I'd come see the only nice place on this garbage world. Kind of a bummer for my first foray into space, but what can ya' do, right? You been here awhile?
no subject
You could say that. It's been around two years. I'm surprised the audience isn't bored of me yet.
[His mention of them has a slightly sarcastic tone, though. He doesn't really believe they exist, after all.]
I promise we don't usually visit literal trash planets, though. Hopefully your next system will make up for it.
no subject
They must like the tall, dark, and handsome types.
[Although Taako was more the tall, golden and beautiful.]
Buuuut I keep hearing this from people about how not every planet is a garbage heap. You're going to get my hopes up, my man, so this Fleet better deliver or I'm gonna be suuuuuper disappointed.
no subject
I'm sure that's what it is.
Really, though. Statistically, they're at least more interesting than this. I wouldn't say they're all prettier, but there's usually more going on. And less trash.
...Though they do get dangerous from time to time.
no subject
[If he had 200 gold, that is. Is it credits now? He's not really sure how credits translate to gold so he's been hoarding it like a prepper just in case.]
But I've also heard that - the dangerous thing. What kind of dangers? Because the worst you could probably get here is tetanus.
no subject
[Fun times! Felix sighs a little.]
There was also the planet where we found out that a meteor was headed straight for us all. We couldn't exactly leave the system so we helped with the evacuation effort. I guess we weren't necessarily in directly in danger on that one but there were some casualties anyway.
...Come to think of it, both of those were more than a year ago though.
[That should be a good thing but Felix has started to sound suspicious. Nothing good lasts.]
no subject
No shit?
[Taako groans a little.]
Please tell me that means you're not due for another bout of terrible horrors in space.
