[ WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS??? No, he knows why. Still, he'll take out his communicator and start browsing. Two can play at that game. He can act indifferent. ]

Taako hums a bit, levitating in the air, checking out his nails, throwing sparks and glitter off as he files his nails.

Then? He casts Mage Hand and tries to snatch the communicator out of Carl's hands.]

[ G O d. Mage Hand works, because of course it does, and his communicator goes flying out of his hands, though he tries to keep hold of it. ] Wh-- Hey!

[And it's just going to float up to the ceiling, just out of Carl's reach, in the most frustrating game of keep-away that Taako can manage.]

Oh no...! Your communicator is haunted! What a tragedy!

Ugh. You are such an asshole. [ And yet, he's not the biggest asshole, and he never had older siblings that did this to him. ]

[He bites back his snickering laughter and floats the communicator a foot to the left.]

Why? I'm commiserating with you over how haunted your shit is. It's truly unfortunate. Look at it go.

Oooh I'm gonna tell Mickey you called him a ghost.

[He floats the communicator two feet to the right, dipping it just barely low enough that if Carl jumped, he might reach it.]

He hates being called that.

[Taako smirks, wiggling the communicator.]

What d'you think?

[ Carl scoffs, turning around to feign leaving before he immediately spins and jumps for the communicator floating in the air. ]

[Welp, he was going to pull it away in the nick of time, but? He just rolled a 3 and godsdammit, he's just a little too slow. Carl gets his hands on the communicator and Taako curses in Elvish under his breath. Now it's a tug o' war with Carl vs his Mage Hand.]

[ He's not going to not try and keep his communicator in hand, but neither of them are great at this. He got a 4. ]

[When Carl loses his grip, Taako lets out a yell of triumph! Only to immediately regret it as his Mage Hand flicks backwards from the sudden release. The communicator skitters across the floor and Taako tries to stop it....

But it gets right through his legs and slides on into the kitchen.

He stares after it just out of reach of the mistletoe's bubble and winces at the predicament.]

...Well shit.

[ Carl watches forlornly as his communicator sails away and into the kitchen. Now there really wasn't much of an excuse to ignore his boss- not that Taako would allow that, anyway. ] Great.

Well!

[He stares after the communicator for a moment, then turns back to Carl with a shrug that manages to look 20% apologetic and 80% smug.]

If you want it back, you'll have to come through here.

[ Now he's going to have to just bite the bullet and do it, either to get his communicator or to keep the kitchen from burning down. Someone has to end the stalemate or who knows what else will happen. Crossing his arms, he moves into Taako's space and yep, now he's stuck, too. ] There. Happy?

[Taako smirks though because he got his way and that's all that really matters. Except now he has to actually break the curse so here goes.

Taako holds his hand out.]

But gimme your hand, nerd.

[ Look, Carl realizes that sometimes it's just better to give in. Still, he puts his hand in Taako's a little hesitantly, expecting some sort of magic. ]

I'm not going to bite you.

[Taako rolls his eyes and takes Carl's hand.]

First, you're like a baby or something, and second, that's not my kink.

[He brings the teen's hand to his lips and presses a quick kiss to his knuckles, giving Carl a wink.]

Okay, but the last time a guy grabbed my hand, he tried to make my dad chop my arm off. [ He huffs, shaking his head. ] I think you mean 'human', and being bitten's not that great, sooooo. [ Adults are weird as hell. ]

Your life is weird as hell and that's coming from a guy who lives on the moon.

[But he lets Carl's hand go and then takes his umbrella and swipes at the mistletoe. It goes skittering across the floor and Taako grins in triumph.]

Also? In your case, kemosabe, human or baby works. You're still a baby human.

[Then he levels a fireball at the offending green plant, incinerating it in a ball of flame.]

..........You live on the moon. [ He's going to let that bit sink in, because that is rad as hell. ] Human sounds a lot better than being a baby forever.

Mmhmm. The second one - is technically fake I heard, but no one knows that.

[He spins his umbrella around in one hand and then hangs it off his arm as he wanders over to the oven. Souffle is safe. He's got a minute before he needs to take it out so he settles on teasing Carl a little more. ]

You're a baby human. Same difference? You're like what? 12? 25?

Wait, wait. There are two moons? [ Always find time in your day to tease Carl a little more, Taako. He moves into the kitchen where his communicator skittered away to, picking it up and shoving it into his pocket. ] Seventeen?
