[In the very early hours of January 20th, as the Marsiva and her captives drift nonchalantly through the depths of the universe, there is a call. Every single personal communicator and console springs to life, spitting out a stream of indecipherable static and showing only gray snow on screen. It continues like this for a few seconds longer, going black and then going staticky, and then the signal switches to the encrypted channel generally used for speaking to the Interceptors when something big goes down.

This is a little more successful. The voice may be familiar to some, at least through the static.]

Zhade here! I trust I ███ your attention? I'm having some ██▓▓ble ██tting through. Some of the ░▓██▓█ are missing. I can't ░▓▓▓ read on their loc█████ns. [A particularly long burst of static.] ███stening. I'll s█▓▓█ more inf██▓▓▓▓▓█ I get it.

Stay sharp! [There's the sound of someone actually doing the fingerguns wink noise, and then static.

Any messages sent back won't get through, and Zhade isn't there to answer.]

[ A blip of lost time passes right after those words, before every passenger mysteriously wakes alone in their own unfamiliar room. The style of decor resembles that of the Marsiva's Hospitality Deck, if any passengers should remember what that's like. It sounds and smells the same as the host ship as well, all clean and chrome.

Welcome back to the Marsiva, dear passengers. It's time for round three of calibrations. ]

[Aaron has some solid Shoulder Touch game, and that sympathetic look is so intense it can't be anything other than genuine.]

Don't mention it. I know we're all trapped here for...however long, but we can find something to distract ourselves with.

[Keith nodded.]

That's true.

[He managed a tiny smile. Congrats, Aaron. You found Keith's mushy center.]

There are a few things around, I guess. I've been through this calibrations thing before. Last time, we passed time with the board games and books... training in the gym. [Keith was the physical type. The gym tended to work the best for him.]

You know, I've never actually been a member of a gym or anything like that?

[He chuckles.]

What do you do for training there?

Well, the gym here is kind of limited. We have more freedom in the one on the Iskaulit and there's the obstacle course there, too.

But here, I mainly stick to the punching bag, or practice some fight techniques.

[Keith definitely wasn't a body builder, judging by his physique.]

Fighting, huh?

[He nods.]

...maybe you could teach me? I've just...never really had the chance to learn, but it might come in handy, what with all the...random kidnapping.

[Keith's eyebrows lifted a bit, and then he nodded.]

Okay, sure.

Do you have any fighting experience?

I have firearms training, some basic knife skills...but really only enough to-

[You probably shouldn't just talk to acquaintances about stabbing zombies in the head.]

-to deal with minor threats back home.

Minor? [Keith smirked a bit.] You're from the same place as Carl and Daryl. Something tells me that there's more to it than that.

[He'd seen Carl's calibration room, and had talked to a few people from that world about stuff like that. Zombies weren't as foreign to Keith as they might have been to someone else at this point.]

Some basic hand to hand, sure, but dodging a walker is very different from fighting a thinking opponent.

[And he's rather that be at range, if he has a choice. There's a reason he prefers a rifle.]

Point. From what I've gathered, walkers are kind of slow and easy to run from when they're in small groups. [Not that it wasn't entirely impossible to get caught... he'd seen that in those calibration rooms, too, but still...]

People who aren't dead tend to fight back.

I don't mind showing you if you want to learn. The gym here isn't as big and open as the one on the Iskaulit, but it'll do in a pinch for now. If anything, we can figure a few things out here, and then continue once we're out of this calibrations stuff.

The...more recently dead are more agile, but...yeah. They aren't thinking. They'll walk off bridges, impale themselves on fences...whatever it takes to find...food.

[He swallows. That's really enough about that.]

But I'd appreciate it, yeah.

[Keith could imagine. Seeing it firsthand was completely different than seeing a movie with zombies on TV or something. It had happened on a waystation a while back. Keith never did find out exactly what had caused it.]

Sure, I don't mind.

[He nodded.]

I'm up for whenever. It's not like we have a set schedule here or anything other than them forcing us to sleep at a specific time.

[He smiles, nodding.]

Sure! I have a Keith top level on the Huntress mingle as an option... or I can tag you if you have something up already. ^_^ Or we can just make a new post. LOL
