Hey there, fleeter friends, let me pick your brain for a few minutes, get those creative juices flowing.

If you could have any kind of magical weapon, armor, or a fancy artifact- what would it be, and what could it do? The theoretical sky is the limit, here, this is just a fun thought experiment.

I don't even know where I'd start. Umm.. for a magical weapon, maybe something that never ran out of ammunition or improved aim? I don't think I'd use armor so much, but maybe that's my problem. What kinds of things can amulets do? I mean, I've read stuff in books, but what are the rules on them?

Oh man, the options for magical amulets can get pretty buck wild. You can get stuff for improved accuracy, sure, or ones that boost your natural abilities- like something to improve how far you can jump, or how fast you move, or even how lucky you are. The rules are… well, most of the time they're more like guidelines. Magic can do a lot, but that power has to come from somewhere in order for it to work. That's why the really difficult shit is extra taxing, and sometimes the components required get expensive.

One for luck sounds kind of promising.

Luck's a good one! I mean, by nature it's something of a game of chance, so it's a little less reliable than others, but that adds to the fun, I think.

Not even what most people consider luck, like 'oh hey, I found twenty bucks laying on the ground' or 'wow, they had the thing I wanted in stock'.

More like.. 'awesome, I didn't get shot?'if that makes sense?

Nah, nah, makes perfect sense, actually! That's exactly the kind of luck I mean, too. Money and good stock is one thing, but avoiding death? That's the important shit. If one little point of luck is what's between you and getting your hand chopped off or something, then that's a point of luck well spent.

Yeah, it is. Or even just a near-miss is survivable enough. A hit is still a hit, but most people facing death will take what they can get?

Yuuuuup. And there's no shame in that! It's not like the world's gonna go easy on you if your pride won't let you take advantage of this sort of thing. There's too many baddies in the universe that'll try to kill you- don't give 'em a chance.

Life tends not to go easy on you anyway, so any advantage you can get should be taken.

So..do you think something like that is possible to make? [ Not that he doubts her abilities in the slightest! ]

Totally possible! Something like that isn't too much of a strain, compared to some of the other projects I've worked on before.

The real question is, can you afford it.

Hmmmm... I'll have to think about it. Magic demands a very exacting price, and the more you want, the more you have to sacrifice. For a simple luck enhancement... your left baby toe would probably be enough!
