[And ultimately Thor doesn't want to know. Not really. If he's coming apart at the seams and everyone is too nice to tell him so, so be it. He doesn't need confirmation. He needs to-- keep at what he's doing. Until he can get home and do something about it, he needs to treat the Fleet as something to endure and eventually overcome. That's the only way he'll get both himself and Loki out of this mess.

He does roll his eyes a little, having a swig of his drink.]

[ he eyes thor's hair, remembering the way thor fiddled with it earlier. ]

Your hair is looking worse. Have you forgotten how to take care of it?

[Thor's eyes snap up and he's affronted, immediately. His hand automatically goes up to his hair again.]

What-- no it isn't! I had it cut just weeks ago!

In a style that is clearly outdated. Was it Romanoff? Her hair gets worse every time I see her.

I went to the barber who has a salon on the Iskaulit. He evened out the jagged bits, that's it.

[So it should be essentially the same haircut he got on Sakaar, if less ragged. Thor hasn't thought about the style of it much, given it wasn't his choice and it's short. Style is for longer hair.]

[ loki takes a prim sip of his drink. ]

You should have let it grow out.

I did that last time, now I have to wait again. I felt like-- doing something about it sooner.

[In some half-assed way it was Thor's attempt to get his shit together after the memories from home. He flaps a hand irritably, going back to his own drink.]

Hair takes time.

I don't see why it should. I could make it grow.

[ he would, but not when he's called out. ]

[Shaking his head imperiously, Thor's not having any of it.]

[ loki tsks. ]

Is the Mighty Thor afraid of a little spell?

[Grand words, considering a nobody in a slave-arena managed to do it once. Thor thumps his finished glass onto the table with finality.]

I didn't think they were serious when I came in here, but they really do only serve one thing.

[ loki huffs. ]

Why did you think otherwise?

[And should have been a joke.]

[ loki rolls his eyes. ]

I take it we're finding another bar.

Absolutely. You want to come?

[ he sighs, dramatic. ]

[Good enough. Loki may make airs of not being interested, but Thor knows better by now. His brother wouldn't agree at all if he had better things to do.

So as soon as Loki's done with his drink they exit the bar, heading into the street and arguing about which bar looks like the next best option. Too gaudy, not gaudy enough, full of ornamental butterflies, a dress code that requires a tie... if nothing else, Kenn-Tellnic has plenty of variety. After a while they finally hit upon a spot they both agree on: aesthetically classy and not so densely populated, with a much better range of options. The view isn't so good here, but a few drinks in that ceases to be much of a problem.

Thor pokes Loki in the shoulder across the table, setting his glass down.]

How's your ship doing? Are you doing anything for it while we're here?

[Loki always seems to have some project on the go for the First Breath and it's of interest to Thor, both as a frequent visitor and a captain in his own right.]

[ loki hums, cradling his drink. ]

Not much. I'll make sure our inventory is up to date, see that everyone has what they need.

Yeah, I've started on supplies as well. But it does not seem as though it will be hard to manage here.

[No need to hunt their own meat or collect from out in the wilds. There are stores for every conceivable thing here.]

And it is not so difficult to provision for five, compared to when it was double that many.

No, but I like it. I don't enjoy labour but it is . . . pleasant to have something to manage.

[ it fills the time and reminds him a little of his brief foray as king. he doesn't miss being the all-father though. ]

[Hm. Thor can't help but find it a bit hypocritical, when Loki had torn strips off him not long ago for working too hard on everything. Not enough to say so though. If nothing else he agrees with the sentiment. Often enough, when he's at loose ends, he works on the Blue Fish in some manner to have something productive to do.

He makes an agreeing noise, fetching up his glass again.]

You've grown into it, I think.

[ loki was still right. he may work and be a little anal about his ship, but he rarely drowns himself in it. still he eyes thor over that statement. ]

If I remember rightly, you nominated yourself as captain just because you could.
