[If there's anything this freaking ship loves, it's food. Somehow, a dinner got planned to welcome the new member. And then other people got invited. And then the dinner pretty much turned into a party with a lot of food. Needless to say, Kairi has been very busy preparing food all the day for this.

There's a lot of meat, per the captain's request. But there's also veggies, some fruit, pasta, and even brownies! There are also two pizza pies. Basically, Kairi just cooked a bunch of food and hoped it would be enough, as she had no idea how many people were coming.

SO DIG IN, BLUE FISH AND GUESTS. Also mingle and be social and all that jazz!]

[Beverly is much more relaxed than she has in a while and - dare she say it? - is even starting to feel a little bit at home on the Blue Fish. Not that she doesn't still miss everyone back on the Enterprise, but it is nearly impossible not to get absorbed in the good mood all around the table today. She's not saying a lot, instead simply sitting back and quietly enjoying everyone's stories and banter. And also this pasta dish! Kairi really outdid herself. If you stop by to chat with Beverly, don't be surprised if you catch her with a noodle hanging out of her mouth!]

[ Upon his arrival, of course he's excited to see some familiar faces outside of the kids he knows from his world. He's stopping by to nod respectfully at Beverly ]

Good evening, Doctor. I hope the day finds you well.

[Focused as she was on her food, she starts when he speaks. Coloring a bit, she grabs her napkin to cover her mouth as she tries to consume the dangling fettuccine noodle as delicately as possible. Once she achieves that, she clears her throat before speaking.]

Ah, excuse me. [She gestures at the empty seat across from her.] Please, have a seat. It's a pleasure to finally get to meet you in person.

[ He just chuckles genially. It must mean the food is good!

But he'll have a seat where she gestures ]

And you as well. I am glad to see there is still room in everyone's schedules for some relaxation and good company.

[She nods.]

In a place like this, it's important to keep our spirits up.

Of course. It is good to see such strong friendships at work.

[ He's peering curiously at what's left of that fettuccine ... ]

If you don't mind me asking, what sort of dish is that?

[dancingmd]

It's called fettuccine alfredo, which is a pasta with a cream sauce. [She grins] As a doctor, I probably should not be recommending that you try it, but really, you should.

A cream sauce? That does sound like it might be bad for my heart.

[ He chuckles ]

I've been assigned the position of cook for the Red Fish, so I suppose you could say my curiosity is piqued by something new I could try to serve.

I'm sure Kairi - she's our cook - would be happy to swap recipes with you. What kinds of foods do you like to make?

[ Right, this is her ship ... ]

You have quite the talented crew, don't you, Doctor?

As for me, I am mostly limited to things that I was able to make while traveling. Dumplings, rice balls ...

They really are. [Smiling proudly] If I had to be brought here, I'm glad I got to meet them at least.

Mmmm I haven't had dumplings in entirely too long.

[Hawke is really the only member of the Blue Fish crew she knows, but Isabela isn't exactly prone to shyness. She seems quite at home already when she takes the seat next to Beverly. She offers her a small cloth, indicating a piece of noodle stuck to the corner of her lip. It's one she usually uses for cleaning her sadly missing daggers, but it's probably best she neglects to mention that. It's clean, at least.]

This is quite the feast. I'm not used to so much variety so far from land.

[But then she's also used to ships of the sailing kind, not the kind out in space.]

[It takes a second for Beverly to understand why Isabela is offering her the cloth, but when she does, she blushes slightly as she shakes her head at the offer. Instead, she picks up her own napkin and quickly removes the offending noodle.

Well that's not embarrassing at all.]

Thank you. I hope that wasn't there for a very long time! Though, I suppose it is a credit to Kairi's cooking. She's been in the kitchen all day.

[Isabela laughs, shaking her head dismissively as she stashes away the cloth... somewhere.]

Oh, it wasn't that bad. I've seen much worse. Pirates have no concept of manners.

[dancingmd]

[She tilts her head quizzically.]

... pirates?

[pirasea]

I'm afraid so. They're all terribly uncivilised.

[dancingmd]

[She smirks.] I would expect nothing less. Civilized pirates would be rather disappointing, don't you think?

Oh, I quite agree. They're far more exciting as they are.

[dancingmd]

[She grins.]

I'm Beverly, by the way.

[pirasea]

Isabela. Formerly Admiral, but I'm afraid the title is rather hollow at the moment.

[dancingmd]

[She smiles ruefully.] I know what you mean. Calling myself a commander here seems rather pointless. At least the doctor part is still useful.
