[If there's anything this freaking ship loves, it's food. Somehow, a dinner got planned to welcome the new member. And then other people got invited. And then the dinner pretty much turned into a party with a lot of food. Needless to say, Kairi has been very busy preparing food all the day for this.

There's a lot of meat, per the captain's request. But there's also veggies, some fruit, pasta, and even brownies! There are also two pizza pies. Basically, Kairi just cooked a bunch of food and hoped it would be enough, as she had no idea how many people were coming.

SO DIG IN, BLUE FISH AND GUESTS. Also mingle and be social and all that jazz!]

[With so many people, it feels just a little cramped, maybe. Which is why Usagi is trying very hard not to bump into anyone ELSE today, and find a nice quiet place to enjoy the rather creatively made pile of food she's managed to get.

There's a little bit of everything, and as Usagi shifts into a seat crossways from Allen she claps her hands together with a rather excited glow about her. Ah. FINALLY. Something that kind of reminded her of home. Its only after a few rather enthusiastic bites (And excited if quiet, squealing) that she finally notices that she's not alone in her little refuge.

At least at this point, despite being halfway through her 4th brownie she manages to look a little sheepish.]

[Allen had been sitting in that spot awhile, munching on food and watching people. When Usagi sat down, he gave her a quick polite smile before returning to his food. She was the person that was new to the crew, wasn't she? He hadn't had a chance to say hello since he had been busy handling other things. Maybe once he's finished eating, he'll introduce himself- since hey, girls don't really appreciate it when you talk with your mouth full apparently]

[The squealing sound, however, makes him look up again - just in time to see her wolf down that first brownie with so much enthusiasm. It catches him off guard, since while he definitely eats with that kind of joy- most people don't. Girls definitely don't, at least not ones like Ino who he hangs around a lot - who is constantly on some diet or another.]

[And if that wasn't enough? She starts wolfing down a second without any care of whose watching. Then a third, and a fourth...]

[Then she looks up at him and notices him there. He's staring back, a bit dazed and in awe at what he's witnessing. Holy Crap. He might even be blushing a little.]

...H-Hi.

[Suddenly awash with self consciousness, Usagi lifts her hands up to make sure there's no food on her face. Unfortunately since she had been eating with such absolute abandon, there's a crumb or two on her face and she hastily brushes them away as her face reddens more. Oh this is probably the worst way to meet new people....]

Hahaha, do you want some? I might have taken a lot of them, come to think of it...[She's trying, oh so hard, not to turn even redder in embarrassment. Here she was, just chowing down in front of some cute guy while he's been staring dead at her. Just bury her on some planet somewhere. That might be enough to separate her from her current astronomical levels of embarrassment.

At least in public she USUALLY tries to maintain some sort of decorum when she goes about eating. She shifts in her seat uncomfortably. Hopefully the guy will take her offer of food as an apology.]

[He stares a little bit more until he realizes he's making her embarrassed- uh, oops. It wasn't his intention! He's just never seen a girl eat like that! So he gives a smile and a little laugh to try to lift the mood]

Ah- It's okay! I don't mind...you seem pretty hungry!

[moonbeams]

[She laughs again, pulling the plate back towards her. Come to think of it, when HAD been the last time she'd eaten? When she first woke up on the Marsiva it was like waking up late to school... but as time had worn on Usagi realized that the last events she remembered weren't happy ones. Despite that, she maintains a smile somehow.]

Hmm.. I guess it's been a while since I got to eat! It's not as good as mama makes... but it's pretty good! Hehe, you look like you were pretty hungry too, though.

Mm! Kairi's a pretty good cook! She told me this was the biggest meal she's ever made.

[His grin gets a bit bigger] Ah, yes! I'm a pretty big eater.

Waah.... I bet it took ages! I'll have to thank her. She's already been so nice to me. [She's got a super great impression of Kairi at this point, the food is just a bonus.]

Hehe, Mama scolds me sometimes, but if it tastes good I can't help it! It kind of felt like home, with everything tasting so good... [The last words she speaks are considerably more somber than before, but she still manages a smile.]

I'm Usagi, by the way.

Mm, she's very kind! I've been trying to think of something nice to do for her. [Since man after all this she deserves it]

Ha- I feel there's nothing wrong with enjoying good tasting food! [And aw, he can pick up on that little bit of somberness. Homesickness, he would guess. He smiles kindly at her]

Usagi? Ah- then you must be our new crewmate. I'm Allen. Welcome aboard.

Hehe, it's nice to meet you Allen! [She pauses, then sort of half scoot shuffles to look at Allen closer. The tattoo (or whatever it is, as far as she knows) isn't beyond her notice, and for a moment her blue eyes watch him carefully. She's building up to ask a question, even as she realizes it's a little rude.]


....Are you American?

[And now...he's getting stared at. Okay, this is probably fair considering he was staring at her. Though still, considering how much people stare at him- it's slightly uncomfortable.]

[The question she asks however, totally throws him]

Huh?

[What? How would she even reach that conclusion?]

No, I'm British.

[British... she nods before smiling just slightly apologetically. Sorry if she was rude.] Ohhh... humm... It's still English right? I'm kind of bad at that subject in school.

[She grins though.] It's a neat name though!

Well, England is in Britain, so yes. It is still English.

[That makes sense. Usagi doesn't really notice the sass that's accompanied the words. Or she just doesn't acknowledge it. One of the two. She nods.]

What's it like where you're from? I've only seen some stuff on movies at home, but it's mostly american movies... [So, not England or Britain at large -- or she can't tell the difference.] It's all pretty different from Japan at least.

[Not noticing the sass is probably for the best really. And how does one answer that question really...?]

It's pretty cloudy and rainy. I stay mostly in the countryside, so that was nice- pretty peaceful.

[She thinks for a moment how to best answer Allen's question, her chin coming to rest on the heels of her hands.]

Hummm... I live in Tokyo so it's pretty busy! There are people and buildings everywhere so sometimes it's really crowded. But there's lots to do! Hehe, my friends and I have an arcade we go to. Tokyo Tower is the prettiest at night, when it's all lit up.
