[If there's anything this freaking ship loves, it's food. Somehow, a dinner got planned to welcome the new member. And then other people got invited. And then the dinner pretty much turned into a party with a lot of food. Needless to say, Kairi has been very busy preparing food all the day for this.

There's a lot of meat, per the captain's request. But there's also veggies, some fruit, pasta, and even brownies! There are also two pizza pies. Basically, Kairi just cooked a bunch of food and hoped it would be enough, as she had no idea how many people were coming.

SO DIG IN, BLUE FISH AND GUESTS. Also mingle and be social and all that jazz!]

[Hands on her hips, Beverly bristles a little in her crew's defense, much as she used to for Wesley.] They may be young, but they're all very talented and have proven themselves to be quite capable in a stressful situation. I believe in them.

[A moment later, her defensiveness deflates and she folds her arms across her chest.]

Though I don't know what the hell Atroma is thinking bringing a bunch of children into this situation to begin with.

[Aveline lifts an eyebrow, curious about that defensiveness, but she shrugs.]

I suppose you'd know better than I how capable they are. I'll have to keep that in mind. But as you say... what sort of person, or people, is Atroma that they would choose children for this?

[Don't mind her, she's just projecting protective mama feelings from her son onto these kids.]

I don't know. To be honest, I'm more upset about that than I am about Atroma taking me.

[Not that she's not angry about that still.]

Well. At least, if I am here, I can do some good. It's not what I asked for, but I can protect a few people while I'm stuck here. You said before you were a doctor, which... that's a healer, if I understand properly?

That's correct. In fact, my role on this ship is not too terribly different from what I'm used to at home.

That would make a world of difference, wouldn't it? I'm not the exploring type, normally, but I can see how that would appeal to some.

At this point, I don't even know that I could settle down in one place for very long. I tried, several years ago, but the whole time I was on Earth, almost all I could think about was getting back to the ship.
