[If there's anything this freaking ship loves, it's food. Somehow, a dinner got planned to welcome the new member. And then other people got invited. And then the dinner pretty much turned into a party with a lot of food. Needless to say, Kairi has been very busy preparing food all the day for this.

There's a lot of meat, per the captain's request. But there's also veggies, some fruit, pasta, and even brownies! There are also two pizza pies. Basically, Kairi just cooked a bunch of food and hoped it would be enough, as she had no idea how many people were coming.

SO DIG IN, BLUE FISH AND GUESTS. Also mingle and be social and all that jazz!]

Spirit. Demon. I don't know. I hear things and it hurts people to know I know them. Or... I don't know. But it does. And so I don't go near them.

...Cole, you're no demon. If there were anything demonic about you, I'd be the first to know. And when I look at you, I see nothing of that sort.

As for these people...[Pink hair with a purple hat. She uses her body to guard him from a blow when despair makes his limbs lead. Always a guardian, always protecting.] ...A friend once told me, that saving people is no simple task. Every person is different, so it takes different things to help them. But you can't know what it'll take to save them unless you understand them. Which...isn't always easy.

It sounds like, to me, it's not you that's hurting them, but those things that you know about them that does. And while sometimes some knowledge is better left to be forgotten, or not spoken about....you just avoiding them....

That won't really make them stop suffering. Not in the long run.

I know about helping people. I know what hurts and I know what will help. I was Compassion before I was Cole. So I just know those things.

And it isn't what I know that hurts him. It's what I am. That hurts him. Digs into something old.

I can't make him hurt. That's not right.

[He pauses and then looks at Allen.]

Crowley told me that he's a demon, but he clearly isn't.

[Allen frowns a little, but at least backs off a bit on the first part.]

Does it? Did he...have a bad encounter with a spirit? [He doesn't understand it. He can't see what would cause anyone to make people hate Cole for what he is. Maybe a little...weirded out, but besides that...]

[And that makes him snort a little about Crowley]

No, Crowley's definitely a demon. I know that much. He might not be the sort of demon you're used to, though.

He knew a spirit who lived in a person. That's not good. For the person or the spirit. They... warp each other. Change their natures towards something not right.

I don't live in anyone. well, I don't live in anyone but me.

[He gives Allen a suspicious, disbelieving look.]

You mean like a host...? [Or rather, a host that didn't keep things in check. Ugh, that hits a little close to home. He knew how being a demon host could warp a person, he's seen it first hand. It was a constant fear for him, being warped in such a way.] ....I see....

[That would color someone's view, but...it didn't make it right to take it out on Cole. How did he express that? Especially when it's something personal to him. Sigh. He'll focus on Cole's suspicion about Crowley]

Yes, I'm quite sure. Crowley is a very old and very powerful demon from my world. [Or a version of it anyway] But he also doesn't mean anyone harm beyond simple pranks. So you and your friends would do best not to try to hurt him.

I don't know. I mean they live in each other. Demons who get into bodies usually overcome the mortal soul. Spirits... can live with them. But it warps them both. The spirit becomes something more like a demon. The person does too.

[Cole looks shocked and a little hurt that Allen thinks he would attack Crowley.]

I live with Crowley. He's not anything I know, but I wouldn't hurt him. He doesn't want to hurt people. I only hurt people to stop them hurting others.

...Yes. I've encountered such a thing before. Usually, we call them "hosts", or "demon hosts" if it's definitely a demon. You find them in many different worlds.

[Allen meanwhile may feel a twinge bad for making Cole hurt, but, well...]

Sorry Cole, I'd hope you'd feel that way and I don't mean to offend....I've just known Crowley a long time and I've had to deal with many well-meaning people who've only seen the demon part. [Plus you know people from your world have also killed a dude for having a slave, and slayed a dragon for...being a dragon. SO YOU KNOW, CAN NEVER BE TOO SAFE WITH YOU THEDAS FOLKS]

We call them abominations. It's when a spirit is in a person. Demons overwhelm people. Spirits don't survive it as they were.

[Cole still looks slightly hurt.]

I only hurt people if they want to hurt others. And I try not to hurt them. Just make them stop.

Um...right, of course you wouldn't.

[But now, there is an awkward bit of silence because of that first part. He wasn't familiar with Cole's world or their terms- but he knew damn well what "Abomination" meant back on Earth. It wasn't a term to be used lightly, especially when referring to people. So to hear it being used like that, to hear someone just outright call people like himself an abomination...]

[Well. He was at a party. Kairi's party. It'd be rude to cause any trouble for the guests. So, he swallows down his feelings and smile]

Ah, I think I hear Sokka calling me... [Sokka's not calling him, but it's an excuse] I should probably go...see what he wants. I hope enjoy your time with the cats, Cole.

[And with that he's turning to politely leave and get out of there.]

[But COle can feel it. The twinge of discomfort, hurt, a deep pain that Cole doesn't understand entirely until he plucks delicately on the string that's caused the hurt and then he gasps, flickering back slightly in shock.]

[He doesn't try and stop him.

He doesn't really know what to do at all.]

[And even if Allen tries to find Cole? He won't.]
