002. ☾ First contact { Action }

[ After sifting through the changes made to the ship with the disappearance of some of the crew, as well as making sure their newest addition settled in all right, Cecil is a little late making it out to explore the planet they've landed on. That said, she's not sure how it is that she managed to attract such a crowd of natives, much less how they managed to keep her busy with being led around their quaint, dusty home all day. One thing just led to another and she's been sight-seeing and answering an awful lot of questions about herself.

It's now nighttime, she's unwittingly tried enough lighter fluid-flavored liquor to render her a little drunk, and it seems her small following is leading her inside the brothel next. It's unclear whether or not she realizes where they're going, but she's also got a handful of those red stones and she's in a pretty good mood, so she's content to be led along.

Honestly, it's been a trying past couple weeks and she needed this chance to unwind, really. Maybe not quite this much, but beggars can't be choosers. ]

[ She inclines her head to the side at that. ]

...If they all look the same, does it matter if it's yours or not? You should be a gentleman for once in your very long life and invite me anyway... Captain.

Hey, I have been a gentleman plenty of times in my life. [he fondly pats her arm.] You wanna know how much of a gentleman I am?

[ Her face is the epitome of skepticism. ]

You were about to walk right into a brothel, just then.

[he jabs his thumb back in the direction they just were...]

I pulled you away so you wouldn't be embarrassed in front of a crowd. Gentleman.

[proteusmoon]

[ She still looks kind of skeptical, but much more nervous now about the possibility of him actually telling the truth this time. ]

I was not...

[birdsbirdsbirds]

You were too! [he laughs, charmed.] Do you want to go back and look?

[proteusmoon]

[ She crosses her arms and pointedly turns her head, looking away from Robin. Inwardly, she believes him much more than she wants to admit, so she just plain refuses to answer. Of course, Cecil doesn't really have a face made for intimidation and even less so when she's drunk. She looks much more like she's pouting petulantly than anything else. And also swaying slightly. ]

[aaawww, he swoops around her to follow her face, leaning in all close-like... the way that he does even when he's sober.]

Okay, okay. Say I'm a little bit of a gentlemen and I'll stop teasing you.

[ She's all sorts of huffy and keeps turning her head this way and that to avoid letting Robin get a good, uninterrupted look at her face. So mature. ]

Do something else gentlemanly and I will.

[...he picks her up! bridal style. like a gentleman, right? isn't this how you gentleman? man okay he maybe shouldn't be doing this.]

[ Cecil just about shrieks when she's suddenly lifted off the ground, immediately curling herself up small and tight into a ball against his chest. It's not the first time she's been picked up like this, but it certainly has been a while and not one person would ever have the nerve to scoop up Cecil Harvey like this at home.

No. No, he should definitely not be doing this, but good luck prying her off of him now. She's just a little bit too drunk to respond to this sort of thing in a way that doesn't involve clinging. ]

[that's Robin... breaking all the rules.]

Hey, relax! I've got you. I'm pretty strong...

[and he does appear to be having no trouble holding her up at all. any swaying is because of the booze.]

[ Although that's definitely a plus, it doesn't excuse how undignified this is, so once she calms down, she looks up at him with a lot more embarrassment than she intended and practically none of the offense she did want. ]

What... What're you doing?

Being a gentleman! I thought...

[wasn't that what all of this was about? he'll... start to walk down the street.]

[ Well, all right, she'll just hang on to him then while he carries her off who knows where. She doesn't seem that concerned with their destination. She sullenly presses her chin to his shoulder, flushed face turned towards whatever is behind it, not really watching anything so much as trying to look detached while she concedes to fulfilling her earlier promise: ]

Maybe you're a little bit of a gentleman...

Aw.

[he's touched. and after a moment, he stops... and... turns around. he was going the wrong way. but it's fine now!]

[ At least one of them is kind of paying attention. That's good news, right? ]

Okay, okay...

[he walks them quietly for a little but, buuuuut...]

Hey, am I allowed to say that you smell nice? Or is that creepy?

[proteusmoon]

[ Oh, Robin. ]

...No more than asking if you can pet my hair or touch my face.

[ Speaking of which, she's gonna just hook her chin over his shoulder and idly play with the hair at the back of his neck, kind of like one would idly pet a cat's tail or something. ]

Oh, and that went over pretty well! So does that mhnngn--

[o-oh. /// maybe it's just because he's drunk, but his happy little hum sounds almost like a cat purring...]

[ Oh my. What a strange noise. She doesn't think he's ever made a noise like this before. So of course she keeps doing it. ]

[o-oh no he's starting to giggle...]

That's nice...

[aaah scrunches up his shoulders, even though he's still holding on to Cecil... he's a distracted driver, this is dangerous!]

[ So surely this means she should just do it more, right? Of course! ]

You still like attention to your hair.

There's all those nerves back there...

[he tries to shake his head, to get her fingers off of him.]

It's not my fault, okay. I can't help it...

[ She's enjoying herself flustering him now, so she doesn't stop, slipping her fingers up through his hair and curling them in the white locks. She also begins nuzzling him under his neck.

Sober, she would have put some distance between them a while ago. Right now though? She's drunk and she misses affection and attention, so she's kind of soaking this up like a sponge. ]
