DRAGON | forest, open to everyone!
this is the signal that says it is finally time. his healing is complete.
and the call to the planet's surface is overwhelming. he has just enough time to contact the few people that he has chosen to trust with his secret--leaving messages if they aren't there to pick up--before he leaves. he has learned his lesson from last time, and so has let at least a few people know before shifting.
it's still not much of a warning, though. he's still too close to the shoreline of the forest when he shifts, he doesn't wait for those who are supposed to be 'babysitting' him to show up before he does it, and the shift itself sets off a huge ripple of energy that just about everyone in the vicinity would be able to feel.
so, almost anyone could run into the giant, cadaverous-looking dragon as he picks his way between the trees. he's breathing in the atmosphere of the wild, basking and submerged in the energy here, and so might not notice visitors until they're close.
...it's likely that he won't be too happy about them, though.]

A dragon.
Steven gasps softly, his eyes going wide, and wonders if it's good or bad. He hopes it doesn't ask him riddles. He's not really good at riddles. Puns, though, those he can do pretty well. Maybe it's a pun dragon.]

it maybe doesn't realize that it is attached to a person just yet, as it stalks through the forest on the hunt for it. being somewhere around twenty or thirty feet tall, its sometimes hard to notice those details in the underbrush.]

Hello? Hello! Hi! Please don't eat me!
no subject
show yourself, little creature.]
no subject
Hi.
no subject
of all the things that he'd been expecting to see, this is not one of them.
and while he very much feels like lashing out and scaring off all intruders, the fact that this weird little kid is the one giving off that incredible gleam overrides it a little bit.
the dragon is still rolling an annoyed rumble around in its chest, but his face begins to swing down closer, to get a better look.]
no subject
Hi! Are you the only dragon around here? You're the first I've seen! I've never met a dragon before, though.
no subject
well, the friendly dragon doesn't answer, really. instead, he picks up one massive paw and brings it close-- pointing a several-foot-long talon directly at that gem.
and he gives another knotted growl, either threatening or demanding.]
no subject
It's my gem! It lets me do magic.
no subject
He goes.
The dragon doesn’t come as a surprise, really. He’s experienced similar explosions of energy during bey battles, especially those with manifested bit-beasts. Still, he’s not a fool—this creature hardly gives off a friendly vibe. So he scales a nearby tree, muscles straining, to get some high ground over the beast. Though he doesn’t move to make contact with the dragon, he does track it, out of curiosity more than anything. ]

and oh does it move more silently than it seems like something of that size should be allowed to. with all the grace of a smaller predator, it makes an effort to be quiet as it slinks along. it doesn't particularly seems to be hunting, though. instead of focusing on following some trail ahead of it, the dragon lifts its head and listens for distant sounds, watching for any approaching threat.
it hasn't noticed the much smaller presence nearby, though. not yet.]

She's afraid of making a noise and budging from her spot, fearing that it would notice her. Something that large would easily gobble up a little girl like her. Trembling, she curls up behind some bushes and tries to remain as quiet as possible. She's hoping the dragon will just pass right by her... ]
no subject
but, after a few moments... it stops.
from somewhere nearby, the dragon picks up the little concentrated knot of energy that comes from the aura of a human life, and it pauses to swing its head around in her direction. with audible whuffs of air, it sniffs for a scent.
it can't see through the underbrush, but it knows someone is there. and so, rolling deep through the air comes a vicious growl of warning.]
no subject
Seeing a view of its face brings Elize to find herself with more labored breathing and sinking more into panic mode.
The warning growl then gets an audible, frightened gasp out of her. She quickly clasps her hands over her mouth, as if it would do much muffle any more noise from her. ]
no subject
his intention is only to flush the intruder out into the open--maybe frighten them off if he's lucky--though that fact isn't exactly apparent. he strikes like a snake into the underbrush, making a snarling feint for whoever is hidden there.
it would have been just the right amount of menace for an adult, but is kind of overkill for a kid. oops.]
no subject
Breathing heavily, she shakily stands and breaks off into a run as fast as her little legs can take her. She's not sure where she's running. Maybe there's someone out here to help her, keep running, or try to seek out a new hiding spot. She doesn't know... but she's terribly frightened. ]
no subject
it isn't hard, with all of these trees. he'll pad along in silence for the moment, keeping up.]
no subject
a few moments to pick the foreign source of energy up out of the effusive backdrop, and a few more to place it amongst memories. maybe he's spent too much time here already. it's harder than it should be to remember what all lies beyond the shoreline of the trees.
he's good once he's finally got it, though.
his shoulders--or wings, really--shrug up in a characteristic demonstration of mild, creeping annoyance, and he cranes his neck around until he spots the pale creature in the trees.
the only greeting he gives him is a low, grumbling hiss through his teeth, while spines prickle up all along his neck--a visible illustration of his skin crawling, a little bit. either in response to seeing Robin in that form, himself being seen like this, or some combination of the two.]
no subject
but he doesn't disappear entirely. Tek can see his face, every once in a while, a little peek of white and red in an otherwise dark, green forest.
perhaps he'd overstepped, coming here, but his head is filled with such a cloud, in here... and he has no desire to turn back. they are both monsters here, aren't they? (where did he get that idea...?) Robin continues the journey next to him, patient, hoping that he might calm down enough to let him be closer.]
