WHO Misha Hunt
BROADCAST Fleet-wide video!
ACTION Marsiva hospitality deck
WHEN May 20th because I'm a loser

[ The comm is set down on a table, facing down to give a wide angle of a young redheaded woman who is basically standing inside of a couch. Phasing! She looks to the camera, brows raised very pointedly!! And then walks forward to one of the walls leading further into the Marsiva and pushes.

Nada.

She looks back to the camera. Walks back to the couch, does a slow turn around while standing inside of it, then goes back and pushes on the wall again. After a moment, she steps back, uses both hands to point at the stubborn wall. ]

Is anyone else seeing this shit?

When we arrived, us engineers were given knowledge of how the ships worked so we could repair and build on to them. We thought it was all-encompassing, but when we opened up the walls there were parts there unknown to us. I can't explain much since we don't know what they do, but something in them might be preventing your ability to pass through solid matter.

And it might be for the best, so you don't accidentally wind up in outerspace.

Not that we could tell. Most were impossible to penetrate.

...you would freeze and possibly implode instantly.
stayinthecar: (That is the question; isn't it?)

[personal profile] stayinthecar 2015-05-28 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
There was no noticeable effect on the ship's controls or life support, and the elements repaired themselves. It's very strange.

[ His brow furrows ] I didn't say you were stupid, I was just concerned. Please don't attempt to go outside.

As if the ship is alive. I've seen no robots, maintenance or repair.
stayinthecar: (Judging by the sound of it...)

[personal profile] stayinthecar 2015-05-28 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, they did. It may just be how the ships expand to add more rooms and features, but none of the engineers were told the parts for such a thing exist.

We laser-cut through the inner wall.
stayinthecar: (Red light was goin' when they attacked.)

[personal profile] stayinthecar 2015-05-28 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know if the ships are alive, they've shown no signs of intelligence.

I came with certain tools including a laser cutter.
stayinthecar: (Please stay away from the doors.)

Actually, I have, and if they are sentient they don't answer. Neither does Atroma. They make announcements sometimes.

What would you use it for?
stayinthecar: (Judging by the sound of it...)

[personal profile] stayinthecar 2015-05-30 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
When they assign people to ships or the fleet approaches a planet or waystation, there's an announcement. They don't answer it if people try to respond, though.

[ Laser... cutty... stuff... okay. ] A swiss army knife would not cut through a wall expediently, no.

I don't know the speed of the fleet or distance between planets, but I've been told that we approach someplace -- waystation or planet -- approximately monthly.
stayinthecar: (That one's me.)

[personal profile] stayinthecar 2015-05-30 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
As far as I can tell, we never run out of supplies. The stops are just meant to make us more "entertaining."
stayinthecar: (The three laws are undeniable.)

[personal profile] stayinthecar 2015-05-30 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, flavors of the month?
stayinthecar: (Have we always had pancake roofing?)

[personal profile] stayinthecar 2015-05-30 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. Yes, that's most likely.
stayinthecar: (We have decided. You smell.)

[personal profile] stayinthecar 2015-05-30 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I've yet to see any signs of cameras, either, though. Or an indication of who our audience might be.
