i know you, that look in your eyes is so familiar a gleam
( for N-Z characters )
Before you post your toplevel comment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. N-Z names comment here, and A-M names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your comment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

Before Prompto Argentum was even allowed to get anywhere near Noctis, Ignis and Gladiolus knew everything about him, good or bad.
The fact that the house is so cold, so barren of anything truly personal is a little surprising. Gladiolus's family's house is warm and bright. Ignis's room at the palace are dark and small because he only has what he needs and nothing more.
But Prompto grew up with his parents and should have had a relatively normal life. Not that Ignis knows what that means either.
Unbidden, he begins to straighten things up in Prompto's room, starting with the filthy wristband that should be thrown in the trash.]

"Door's locked."
"It's coming from within. Is there no way through?"
"There's a way." Prompto shuffles forward reluctantly. After a moment of hesitation, he raises his right wrist and holds it before the panel. The light turns from red to green and the heavy door splits open.
"So MTs...They've got those codeprints...just like I do."
"Do they? Never looked."
"Yeah...So as it turns out...I'm one of them. Not exactly something I could tell people growing up in Lucis. Still... You guys...are like the only friends I've ever known. I just hope that things can stay the way they were..."
[They continue to speak, but the scene is fading, bringing him back to the bedroom.]

The sunglasses that do nothing to hide the massive scarring around his eyes.
And the cane.
And the way that Gladio and Prompto both seem to hover over him, as if he could fall down any second.
It's one thing to know something, but another to have to see it without the benefit of knowing how it actually happens or how he gets to this point in time.
With a flare of what he thought was buried anger, he turns his focus onto the words that are being spoken. Prompto is telling them that he's from Niflheim. Not the end of the world nor is it a concern that he has a codeprint to what appears to be mechanisms in Zegnautus Keep. Lucian intelligence had long thought that the emperor and Izunia had been experimenting with their own citizens for the purpose of Magitek advancements. It was the only logical conclusion for how quickly they could make the leaps and bounds they had in technology.
Ignis can see that future him and the other two feel that way without any sort of communication. Prompto is one of them. No matter what.
And when the scene is over, Ignis looks around the room again, the wristband falling onto the bed, forgotten. For a moment, he's disoriented, not sure what's going on, but having an idea that this is definitely some sort of manifestation of Prompto's home in Insomnia before the invasion. Curious, he turns his attention to the camera on the desk, picking it up to inspect it.]

It might come as a relief that the camera carries no dark fears or tragedy. It is awash in nostalgia and happy feelings, love and a kind of fondness. The picture on the viewscreen is a selfie, but Noctis, Gladio, and Ignis are all posed in the background. The garage at Hammerhead is hardly visible in the background.
It seems to be somewhere in the middle of the album, with the option to scroll forward or backward.]

There are more important things to take are of and he knows it. He can have a little breakdown about it later.
The pictures, however, are familiar. How many times had they posed for Prompto in various place? How many times had he asked Noctis of whom he should focus on taking pictures of for a while? How many times has he stuck his camera in their faces when they were fighting, walking, driving, eating, etc?
No, this is good. And nice. And a part of Ignis aches for the fact that while all this is going on, the world as they knew it was going to hell because of Ardyn Izunia. When he reaches the end of the photos, he looks around and puts the camera back on the desk, looking for his friend.]
Prompto, are you here?
no subject
[He's hovering by the door, one shoulder pressed into the jamb, arms crossed, and looking uncharacteristically serious.]
Fancy meeting you here.
[There's the smile. He moves into the room and plops down on his bed.]
no subject
But it's part of his charm, Ignis is sure of it.]
Yes, imagine that you and I would meet in your bedroom.
[Ignis pauses in thought, realizing the implications of it and shrugging it off.]
I've never seen your home. This has been interesting.

The bedroom comment is met with a bashful snort of laughter.]
Well, this is it! Sorry, it's not much to look at.
no subject
Even he himself has to smile ruefully for the Freudian slip. Happily, this isn't Gladio, so they can both let it pass by now.]
I wouldn't say that. It says a lot about you and the way you grew up. It's very warm. [As opposed to the rest of the house.] I imagine you spent a great deal of time in here.
no subject
More than I would have liked. But... [He shrugs helplessly. Like "what are you gonna do"?] It wasn't so bad once you guys came along.
