[You find yourself in a snowy tundra, ice water from the sea flows past distant glaciers, and snow breezes past you. Luckily, you don't FEEL the cold, but boy, this place sure looks it. Ahead of you is a a tiny village- mostly composing of tents and a few scattered igloos, all around a large, central communal fire. Weirdly, the image doesn't remain, turn your head slightly one way and suddenly it becomes a very different place, virtually indistinguishable from what was there before. Gone are the tents and dumpy igloos, replaced with ice buildings, surrounded by canals and smooth walkways. In the distance, black smoke billows out of a nearby factory.

You can control which version you walk to, at least, walk to the left and it remains the small village, walk to the right and it remains the new city. If you face forward, however, all of this vanishes, and instead there is a snow sculpture of the Blue Fish, with Sokka standing beside it.

You can:
A: Head to the small village
B: Head to the new city
C: Head to the Blue Fish]

[Well this is interesting, to say the least.

Riona cautiously steps forward, glancing back and forth between the village and the city. Both are foreign to her, though the village seems familiar as she runs the description through her mind. Ice, cold, and a small village... she's heard of this place.

Unsure as to which way to go, she keeps going forward, almost startled when the sculpture suddenly appears. Her mild alarm fades when she sees Sokka.]

Hey.

[She approaches him, albeit hesitantly. Something is definitely not quite right here. If they're where she thinks they are... but how? What's going on?]

[Sokka continues patting the snow on it, hilariously, as if he could actually make anything even vaguely resembling what it's supposed to be. He turns at the sound of Riona's voice, smiling. ]

Oh, hey, Riona. What's up?

[This is normal. This is fine. Everything is fiiiiiiine. ]

[ Eithan doesn't see the Blue Fish at first, because he keeps looking back and forth between the town and the city, wondering how it's changing like that. ]

The fuck...?

[ But eventually, he does manage to stop the back-and-forth long enough to actually see the icy ship, and Sokka. Well, at least that's familiar?? He makes his way over to him. ]

Yo. What is this place?

[The middle is clearly the place to be. Sokka has zero plans of moving from the middle. The middle is SAFE. His life makes sense in the middle. He offers Eithan a smile, moving from where he's been building on the obviously-not-his statue.]

Oh hey. This is the Blue Fish. Uh- in snow. Pretty, right?

[ It is beautiful, in a very stark fashion, although he flinches from the smoke of the factory.

When he sees Sokka he walks over to touch his shoulder lightly ]

Are they both your home?

[Sokka pauses in his work, not that the statue is anything he could build in real life. A frown crosses his features for a moment, before he covers it up with a smile again. ]

This is the South Pole! [Note that's not...really answering his question. He chuckles. ] And this is the Blue Fish, pretty neat, right? I think it's an excellent likeness.

[Edna never feels the cold, having been born on a mountain top as an Earth Seraph. Things like that don't matter when one is already a spirit. But the clear, crispness of the snow and ice from the small village seem to beckon her more than the strange city that pumps out the dirty smoke.

She leaves large boot prints through the snow, even if she barely breaks the surface of it. When she reaches the outer wall, she pauses and puts her hand on the wall surrounding it, watching the villagers go about their daily lives in a serene sort of bustle.]

If more places were like this, it would be okay.

[This is a really nice place, right? It's an honest pity it doesn't exist any more. Still, the old village really is very small. It's clear only a small smattering of people still live here. There's a massive tear in that protective ice wall keeping the village from the sea. Something very big ploughed in there at one point. There are a few things to explore while you're here, though:

A: A necklace, placed carefully in the snow.
B: A battle helmet, shaped like a wolf's head and made of hardened leather
C: A minature iceberg. It's unnaturally round. And glowing.
D: A circle of stones around a larger one
E: A pond, something seems to be swimming in it. ]

[Kaidan holds out a hand in mild amusement, feeling but not feeling the icy breeze around him. He looks around, after a moment, and sees both settlements. The city is, in effect, a place that he knows. But the village is quaint and quiet looking, and he finds himself walking that way, guided by the light of the fire.]

[The old village really is very small. It's clear only a small smattering of people still live here. There's a massive tear in the protective ice wall keeping the village from the sea. Something very big ploughed in there at one point. There are a few things to explore while you're here, though:

A: A necklace, placed carefully in the snow.
B: A battle helmet, shaped like a wolf's head and made of hardened leather
C: A minature iceberg. It's unnaturally round. And glowing.
D: A circle of stones around a larger one
E: A pond, something seems to be swimming in it. ]

But at least he didn't feel cold, and hopefully the way these places functioned meant that nothing with teeth was going to pop out at him anything soon. Please not that. He spies the two villages, looking left and right, ultimately deciding to head to the bigger, newer looking village.

[Excuse you, Kirk, the snow is the best. It's the most perfect place to live, period. Wow.

The city is a far, far cry from the small village. It's grown huge, and sprawling. Nothing is slipshod or put together. It looks like it's bustling, thriving and it's still growing. New ice buildings are under construction, including what looks like an ice palace. In the distance, machinery stands, looming, a little foreboding. The unstoppable force of change. There are a few things to check out here:

A: A fan. It is not delicate, it's sharp and designed for battle, don't cut yourself on it.
B: A bracelet It's made out of a strange metal.
C: A single sword it seems one of a pair- but the other is missing.
D: A snow sculpture of what looks like an airship
E: A sign, abandoned and cracked, face down on he ground ]

[ Allen's never been to the Southern Water Tribe, but he's heard stories about it for years from both Katara and Sokka. As such, over time he's grown to have certain image of his mind of what the village must look like. An image that's not too far off from the tiny village he sees upon arrival- and that alone is good enough to give him a good indication of where he's ended up now, making him smile a little. The village is small and quaint. It's not a place that Allen would want to live, but he could see why Sokka would be so fond of it.

But before he can head to the village to see if his friend is there, Allen turns his head just enough to trigger the village changing before his eyes. He makes a surprise noise as the tiny village changes to something that looks- well, honestly something out of his homeworld if one swapped out the ice for brick and mortar]

What-?

[That...makes absolutely no sense. He stands there, surprised and confused. He looks around again, trying to make heads or tails of it when Sokka appears by a statue of a ship he knew very well.

...Wait something that Sokka made looking recognizable? This is just getting weirder. But he'll approach]

Did you make that?

[Sokka made something recognisable. The world is clearly ending. Nothing is right. Cats love dogs, up is down, etc. Sokka himself seems pretty oblivious to all the weirdness around him, instead smiling and raising a hand in greeting. ]

Hey, Allen. Sure did, it's the Blue Fish! Cool, right?

[Probably best to ask the young man with the fish statue what's happening here.] Oi! What pole would this be, my good statue-appreciating lad? North or south?

[Sokka turns, offering the guy a wide grin. ]

The South! [But also the ever encroaching North, depending on which way you wanted to look at it. ]

Pretty neat, right?

[Keith paused. The fact that it didn't feel cold baffled him a little, but this was almost like a dream, right? He chalked it up to dream physics and decided to look around a bit. He blinked, trying to figure out how the village vs city thing worked, but finally started walking towards the city.]

[Ice and water - another point for the similarities with Lance, he supposes. He isn't sure he wants to get too near to ice right now, though, not wanting to bring memories of Kerberos into this, so he approaches Sokka instead, smiling at the snow sculpture.]

The Blue Fish? Nice job, Sokka.

[Him and Lance are clearly meant to be buds forever. Sokka turns, grinning and giving a little wave. ]

Oh, hey Shiro! Thanks! I worked hard on it.

[Nami blinks at the changing village-- city?-- no wait, it's a village. She thinks. It seems a little less chaotic than the city at least, so she turns towards the village proper in the end, heading for it and wishing she had something warmer on. Not that it really seems to matter, but these places have always caught her short in the past. You never know, right?]

Gah! This is cold! ...Wait, this isn't cold. [Huh?] Do I have the power not to be cold? Is that a thing? Who am I asking? [He looks around. Oh, a town. He'll just go over there and...what...what just happened? He looks back and forth a few times until he spots Sokka.]

Hey! I know you! [He moves forward.] Don't disappear!

[Sorry, buddy bud, you probably do not. Such a shame. Sokka does what he's told and absolutely does not disappear. He smiles, instead, turning to wave at him. ]
