i know you, that look in your eyes is so familiar a gleam
( for N-Z characters )
Before you post your toplevel comment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. N-Z names comment here, and A-M names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your comment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.
Uraraka Ochako
Ochako sits on the shoreline, knees hugged to her chest, and watches the stars, fascinated. A few feet away is a picnic table, laid out with leftover food from dinner- snacks and sweets and expensive-looking finger food. Alongside the food, however, is a collection of curious items that look out of place, on the table itself, or on the sand around it:
-a large, distinct arrangement of sea shells in the shape of a heart
-a broken chunk of concrete
-a long, curved helmet
-a weirdly realistic doll hand
-a little bento of mochi decorated like animals
Once she notices any visitors, Ochako will offer up a cheerful greeting and a wave- she’s obviously thrilled to be here, however nostalgic her gazing might look at first glance.]
(( ooc: more details on the items and options HERE. warnings are for violence.))
no subject
Ochako's wave catches his attention, however, and he ignores the table for a moment and treads over the sand to where she's sitting]
Hey there. Is this your place?

It's Hawaii, right? I've never been either, but...[He reaches down to pick up a handful of sand. To feel it between his fingertips]

[She points towards the house, where two figures continue to chatter and move indistinctly behind the windows.]

aizawa gives the items on the table a passing glance, but heads for ochako instead first, settling into the sand beside her with a tired sigh. he really doesn't want to go poking around in his student's head; at least, not without her there. if there's a chance he can get out without invading her privacy then he'll take it.]
Nice place you've got here, [he starts. is she lucid, or is she going to be stuck in whatever this is as a reality?]
no subject
Isn't it pretty? It's the perfect spot- no work, no school, no villains or bullies. Nothing bad can ever happen here.

Ochako follows his gaze, smile broadening, and digs her toes into the sand.]
I hope so! Daddy's always wanted to come here with us. When I was a baby he talked about saving up and flying us all over here once day.

How beautiful.
[Truly it is. It puts Lurelin in her mind, that sleepy fishing village to the east that she had seen only from a distance, once upon a time. When she spots Ochako sitting in the sand, she brightens, and jobs over.]
Ochako, hello! Are you having a picnic?
no subject
Uh-huh! It's mostly done now, but if you want any food, you're welcome to as much as you want! There's lots to spare.
no subject
Thank you, I might have some in a little while. This is a lovely place to enjoy a meal. [She looks across the sand, towards the house.] Is this where you live?
no subject
[She doesn't know if that means anything to Zelda, but.]

He's standing off to the side, barefoot, staring at the far-flung water with one part resentment and a million parts wonder. His toes curl into the damp sand as he considers just how lucky Ochako is to have a hideaway of her own. And that's to say nothing of the stars above, which he has always loved, and will always love, forever.]
It's amazing...
no subject
Isn't it? I knew I'd love the beach, and there's nothing I love to look at more than a pretty night sky, but the two together? It's the best.
no subject
[But that night sky... the more Shinji looks up at it, the more he's filled with a sense of nostalgia and regret. It takes him a little while to realize why that is:] Oh, this is... this is on Earth. We're on Earth? [That seems like it should be impossible--but he doesn't know how he got here in the first place.
He smiles like he can't believe his own good fortune.] Right now, we're on Earth, aren't we?

Max avoids the food entirely, despite the temptation — the mochi decorated like animals is especially hard to ignore, but by god he does it. Instead he limps through the sand and appreciates the ocean (hasn't been like this back home in a long, long, long time), and then plops himself unceremoniously down beside Ochako whether she's aware he's arrived or not.
A grunt of hello.
Calibrations, huh? Really damn weird.]
Where's this?
no subject
This is Hawaii. Have you ever been here before?
no subject
[That's what she'd know it by probably, right? Most do. He wonders if Hawaii is anything now, back home. He hasn't seen the ocean in a long time, and he's looked. Boy, he has.]
Must, uh. Like the place a lot.

Makie loves the beach. It makes her miss the one she shared with Lilly something fierce. It doesn't take her long to see Ochako, either, and she breathes a little easier.]
Ochako-chan...? [Despite the weird circumstances, Makie's voice is warm. Whatever, she'll roll with it.] Is this place your home?
[...well, terrible guess.]
no subject
[Ochako turns to greet her, giggling quietly.]
No, no, I don't live here. I'm on vacation with my family!
no subject
I'm not sure what I'm doing here but I can't seem to leave. Do you mind?
