Okay, guys. Hear me out. This is going to sound like a weird suggestion, but... has anyone thought we've been almost too gloomy lately? Our mourning is all well and good. A lot of shit happened. But if you ask me, we're missing a pretty key component to the whole cycle. Where's the party? The wake. The remembrance that we're alive and we have our own lives to continue now enriched by the lives we touched while they were here.

You know. That kind of sappy stuff.

[ There's a pause, a quiet "um". ]

If anyone else agrees, I was thinking of setting something up in say—a week or so? Would anyone else be up for that?

[ No this clearly has nothing to do with the fact that her birthday is on the 11th. Mere coincidence! ]

Oh, just the country? What about the rest of the world?

Seriously? That's some trippy shit. We just have physics do that for us.

There's the Griffon Kingdom, the DragonLands, they're closest. There are lots of other lands beyond, but nopony goes there.

[Mostly because everything from those lands that shows up in Equestria wants to DESTROY THEM.]

Yeah, it was like that in Paradisa. It was weird.

Wow, that is all really self-explanatory. Do you have any places that aren't named after residents?

Paradisa?

Well, the cities and towns in Equestria are different. Like I was born in Manehatten.

[He nods. ]

It was a place I was before here, another kidnapp-y sort of deal, except this one was a sentient kinda-evil castle. There's a couple of people in the Fleet who were there, too.

... Manehattan. Huh. I grew up near Manhattan. Guess we're all a little speciest.

[ It's said teasingly, because she realized how conceited it sounds. Still, that's definitely interesting and humorous in the grand scheme of things. ]

Wait, other people have been taken out of their dimensions for sick and twisted entertainment before this?

Oh right! I've been told about that place, it's weird how they got a similar name, right? They're both really big cities, too.

Huh uh! There's not just Paradisa. Lots of people on the Fleet have talked about different places they remember.

Maybe it's one of those world-resonation things. Hell if I know, but that is pretty cool. So we're kind of like interdimensional neighbors.

[ There's a pause where she realizes neighbors and resolutely does not chuckle. ]

That is beyond worrying. What kind of places? Did they all have, like, forces behind them?

[Cheese has no such qualms, and sure does laugh. ] Neighbours, I get it.

I'm not too sure, you'd have to ask them. I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Haha, yeah. I wasn't going to mention it. I like it, though.

[ There's a noticeable grumble. ]

Well, there goes that... It is super-creepy and worrying, though.

[He taps his hooves in the air and a 'bad-um-tsh' sound comes from nowhere.

Still, after his time in Paradisa, the Fleet is actually pretty...refreshing. ]

I guess. There's a lot of weird magic going on, but I figure most get to go home as some point. Aaaand I don't think any of the other places devour your soul. So that's a bonus.

[ There's a slight gasp to the sound of an invisible rimshot. Oh man, maybe having a magically-talking pony around won't be so bad. ]

No, just our wills to live. [ It's said wryly, entirely joking. ] This place is just... some kind of huge mystery. It doesn't seem outright malicious, but there's a hell of a lot we're in the dark about, too.

[It will be the best thing. ...More likely the worst, but they can pretend. ]

There sure is, but so far, it's been pretty tame. It's even less stressful than living back home.

[ Eh, she will make the best of it!! ]

What, in Manehattan? You know, I could see that if it's anything like my Manhattan.

Oh, no, I mean Equestria in general. It's...kinda full of viscous monsters and every couple months somepony tries to take over the country by force.

But I don't know much about Manhattan, does that place have vicious monsters?

[interspace]

Jesus. They don't horse around, do they? [ Beat. ] No, I'm actually sorry for that one.

I mean, mine does. Kind of. People can be monsters, too, especially ones with super powers or too much brains or money.

Haha, and no, they really don't.

[Especially not the last one.]

The super power thing is usually the problem for us. When I came here, the mares that defend the realm just defeated a centaur that was draining the life-force out of half of the ponies in Equestria, it was pretty bad.

[interspace]

Supervillains should really just learn moderation someday. [ She pauses, makes a slight hum. ] Well, but then I would be out of a job, so...

So you protect your realm from those crazy villain types, too? That's neat.

[ She laughs, quiet. ]

Yeah. Because no one else can. Not exactly a thing out here, though. I'm almost glad they assigned me a job without asking.

Dont'cha think you'll get bored, though? Without all that action in your life constantly?

Eh... It's not like we don't get stuff to do out here, too. Just got to get action in another way.

True, I guess Atroma will send us to all kinds of exciting places.

[He says 'exciting' with a little trepidation. Paradisa's idea of 'exciting' was usually 'terrifying', and he has no frame of reference to tell him Atroma will be any different. ]

Let's just hope they don't start reusing ideas. [ There's a slight downturn to her tone here. ]

But, I mean, I'm just glad they don't pit us against each other. Not really.

Yeah, that'd make this a hundred times less fun. Nopony wants to be trapped in space, battling everypony else. That's just a waste of time.

You can bet they'd have a lot more resistance on their hands if they tried it. [ There's a slight pause. ] Although, maybe they have and they've learned better by now.
