[How's your ship doing, pardners? Is it still pretty damaged? Is it glitching out hardcore? Well, there is one place to land to take care of all that, and that's on a dusty old moon in front of a planet that no one wants to go to. On this moon, you'll find a civilization that looks a lot like one's stepped into a wild west movie, hardened cowpolk and mutant horses and all. Will you become a vigilante, hunting bounties and stopping gangs from doing their dirty work? Will you go exploring planetside, with a cowboy hat and a stalk of wheat in your mouth to complete the look? Good luck with that; there is no wheat. This town ain't big enough for all you flooters, but make it so! For the ratings!

[ That's pretty obvious body language there. Duke blinks once, and does that thing where he tilts his head and it looks like he's smiling a bit more than he actually is.

He's smiling because he's aware he did a dumb, okay. ]

... Terrible conversation topic. However, it was the first thing I could think of beyond "nice weather if you don't have to worry about sunburns", and I did want to make sure this was the same one. [ Is he chattier now that he's talking to someone who is obviously not human? Eehhh.. ]

[a booming growl rolls from the dragon's chest and down through the earth, curling with a wet hiss and several close-throated catches of voice. and, by the sarcasm in his ferocious voice, he's not actually expecting to be understood.]

[ It does take him a moment, where he tilts his head as if he heard something that didn't quite get. Spoilers, he didn't quite pick up on the sarcasm. ]

Sometimes there isn't just one, all the time. Of course, that might have something to do with the magic castle, rather than people arriving.

.... Do I need to repeat myself? You seemed to understand me just fine before.... [ That was one option, but the second seemed more likely. ]

Or is it rather odd for someone to understand you?

[ Third option was a 'wait, what do you mean some people burn more easily than others', but Duke didn't think that was particularly likely. ]

It's.. something else to me, I would say. I've been able to understand the words, or just meanings and intentions, of beings that aren't humans or humanoids for some time.
