[Luckily for Octavia's dignity, somehow her initial waking up freakout wasn't broadcast, so the first televised signs of her include the brunette leaning against the wall, curiously looking over her communicator. She jumps a little when it starts recording, but composure isn't too far off.

A raised brow greets the fleet, followed by a hesitant attempt at a smile. It's a bad one.]

So, space. [It's said in a very dry, unimpressed tone.] Anyone mind telling me what the hell's going on? I've got things to do, and this wasn't one of them... Whatever this is.

[She straightens, moving back to her initial bunk.]

And someone tell me what dick took my sword. I want it back.

I was fortunate. We came across a planet with a swordmaker two months after I arrived here. I have not seen one since, however.

Two months is fortunate? [Incredulous doesn't even begin to describe her right now.]

And how long ago was that?

Yes. It could have been much longer. It has been six months since that planet.

[There's a long pause where she just stares at the comm before placing it to the side and just burying her face in a pillow. Luckily there's no sound from the scream sent over broadcast.

A moment later, she's back, looking a little better. Or something. He really should have no idea about what just transpired.]

So you think we're about due for one or what?

I do not know. I cannot guess Atroma's movements any better than the rest of us.

Super helpful, thanks. [Octavia doesn't intend to be so grumpy, but it just sort of slips out. She'd been doing so well back home, and now she's stuck somewhere completely new without anything familiar.]

Think there's anything around that'd make due in the mean time?

[He ignores the sarcasm, shrugging his shoulders. He hated it too, but there was little to be done about it.]

Perhaps someone gained more than one sword while they were on Mor. Otherwise, you will have to satisfy yourself with the guns the Fleet provides if you have a security offer on you ship.

[There's another long pause. Watching Fenris choose his words is sometimes like watching a glacier melt. ]

I'm Fenris. Welcome to the Fleet, for what it is worth.

[She waits. Octavia knows how to be patient, and now isn't a time to tick anyone off just yet. Fenris gets a nod when he speaks again.]

It's worth something. Brand new freaky place, and people are willing to hold a conversation about things. It helps, trust me. [He gets a lopsided grin.] Octavia, if it matters at all.

[Maybe Danarius. But Fenris is much, much happier with him being SUPER DEAD. ]

If you wish for a decent meal, you would be best getting it on the planet. The food we have on our ships is cuboid and no matter how the chefs will try to dress it up, is still a tasteless square.

Then it's a step up from the last time I lived in space. The stuff was made for nutrition, not taste. Or enjoyment probably.

[The amusement never leaves her face, but it does wane when she mentions her previous time in a ship.]

You lived in space back home?

No, I did not. But before I came here, I was kidnapped to another place. Exsilium, it was called. Myself and many others were drafted from different worlds to fight in a war.

At one point there was... an incident [the country got nuked] and we had to live on a moon base for a while.

It was. We were eventually set free, when the war was won. Unfortunately, I ended up here, instead of the trip home I was promise.

Do you think this place interfered, or were they in it together? [It's a pretty good question, she thinks.]

It could be either. The Initiative were grateful, but perhaps some of us ended up being the payment in part for their victory. It is hard to tell.
