[Mal is just Excited To Be Here, quite frankly. She loves the Caprine. Loves. Luvs. As such, the first day finds her buried deep in the engine, banging around in Engineer Thrillsville, sating her quite literal hunger for this particular brand of problem-solving and making sure everything is up to scratch and/or snuff. She does emerge in the evening, though, cheerfully covered in grease and ready to hug or shoulder-punch anyone she knows and stare curiously at new arrivals. Professionalism!]

[For the rest of the time, she can be found fussing around in parts of the ship that are not technically her business at all - poking at the displays on the bridge, practicing hand-to-hand or ballet in the cargo bay (shut up, Joseph), or lingering in the kitchen with a cup of coffee and a curious stare for anyone who's willing to even vaguely look in her direction.]

[Occasionally she will make captain's updates over the loudspeakers, mostly to hear the sound of her own voice. For example:]

This is your captain speaking. Have you ever considered the possibility that this is all a dream? That the month of dreams was, in fact, the waking world? That your real existence is hopping from reality to reality like a particularly restless spirit? What an intriguing prospect. Please consider and discuss, then get back to me with your opinions. There will be a test.

[If you are unlucky enough to get cornered by Mal when the Caprine is near a waystation, she will also probably drag you out for drinking, or shopping for big black sensible boots, or for a fight, or all three. This is your life now, new passengers. Welcome the sweet embrace of madness.]

[ Elecman is inspecting the Caprine just like Mal is, going over everything not only because the ship and how it works is his job now (and something of a passion for him, since he hasn't worked with physical machinery before). He can be found puttering around the ship, testing mechanisms and watching in fascination as things fold in and out; he seems to approve of it.

Also, his gift-given dried fruits have been left in the kitchen as a present for anyone who wants them, because he certainly can't eat them. The chocolates he keeps; they'll come in handy later.

In the waystation, he's testing his mettle against various arcade games, and some of those have room for a second player. Feel free to join him in co-op shooting games or go head to head with him in a fighting game - he definitely won't mind.

[He'd been warned that they were usually on smaller ships. He thought he was prepared for that. It meant fewer people, fewer worries... didn't it?

Only not really. He's not a people person, not really, and it's kind of draining to be here acting like he is for no pay and no good reason.

Okay, maybe there is pay, he doesn't know that. Whatever.

Qing can be found just generally getting used to the layout of the place, at first. It's small but not cramped, and once he gets used to the folding furniture and the like, it's honestly kind of cozy. More than his apartment back at home, even.

Later on, he'll be easily found in the kitchen, restlessly looking over the... ingredients... there and just generally trying to take stock of this whole new situation. It's not going well, but you might be hard-pressed to tell from the absent look on his face.]

[ Hello there, Caprine. This woman doesn't belong on your ship, but she's being nosy and exploring what exactly some different ones have to offer. You know, just to have an idea of what type of bizarre entity the people of this Fleet seem to be up against.

Also, all of this technology is just really weird and bizarre to her, so it doesn't hurt to test some of it out and see what it does, if they all function the same, so on and so forth. She's quiet, nearly silent as she slinks around investigating.

She is currently in the kitchen, running a finger over the protein dispenser. She'd tried a little bit of the protein cubes before and boy, was she not a fan.

Come bother her, ask the weird stranger to leave, so on and so forth ...? ]

[ It hasn't been a very good trip for Genos.

The hospitality on the last ship was... well, he can't complain about anything other than being in a new place without his permission, at least. Which he did complain about—he certainly made sure his annoyances were clear to anyone who would listen.

But this... this must be the ship that girl was talking about, or one of them.

Which is why the moment he's able to, he's checking out the ship, touching the walls and prodding the ceiling—if it moves, he's picking it up and turning it around in his metal hands. When he walks, there's a distinct clink; his metal parts moving together to act as his limbs.

Or, if he finds you, likely due to his radar... or if you're just being loud... he'll straighten up immediately, only to ask— ]

Tell me what ship this is. [ Or: ] I need a list of people on this ship.
