[Kaneis isn't at all fond of being stuck on yet another snowy place. But even his disdain for snow isn't enough to keep him stuck on the ship for several weeks - especially when there's no telling when there'll be another planet]

[And so he can be found often in the cities. Sometimes he's shopping for supplies, sometimes he's reading job boards trying to find some mercenary work to pass the time and sometimes he's simply exploring. He's lucky that he showed up to the fleet wearing the coat he had in Exsilium, so he can forgo the destructive sweaters. But the bright red braid is pretty unmistakable even in the winter clothing.]

[He is also taking care to stay far, far away from any snowmen. If you watch him enough, he almost seems to be taking long detours just to avoid any he comes across. Pretty weird man]

F..freezing...!

[Okay, so maybe walking onto Snow Planet with little else than his usual jacket and jeans was probably not the best idea. But he hadn't felt very great being on a spaceship (it reminded him too much of that world change) and he figured he could buy something while he was out here.

Well, if he could find where he could exchange the currency. He'd already went in and they said his money was no good until he got it converted... So now his arms are wrapped tight around him, his nose red as he shivers.]

Sh-sh-should have asked someone on the sh-ship...

[He looks up with an upset frown, but stops when he sees startlingly familiar stopsign-red hair.

... could that be...?]

Z-zelos?!

[wilder]

[Even if Tsuna had said it to himself, he had heard his old name. It causes him to halt in his step for a moment, his shoulders stiffen. No, he doesn't recognize the voice. He probably should look over to see who was saying it. A Tethe'allan? Someone from one of those universes?]

[But...he really doesn't feel up to it. He was already fighting to keep the past away enough without having to go through that conversation again. So instead he starts walking again- even if it was clear he had stopped. Maybe if he keeps going, he can get away.]

H-hey, hold on a moment--!

[It had to be Zelos! Even from this distance, Tsuna could recognize him. He had a pretty distinctive profile, after all.

But if it was, then... why was he ignoring him? He heard him, didn't he...? Of course he had! If there was one thing he knew about Zelos, it was that he was always aware of his surroundings--]

Gyah--!

[He plummets face-first into the snow after getting distracted and tripping or slipping, quite possibly on some ice.]

A-ah! C..cold!

[He pushes himself out of the snow and grips himself tightly, teeth practically chattering.]

S-s-stupid... s-snow...

[wilder]

[Okay so that commotion makes even him have to stop to look over his shoulder. The display is enough to make him raise both his eyebrows in disbelief. Because...seriously kid? Seriously?]

[He stares for a moment, and if Tsuna catches sight of his face there's no mistake who it is. And maybe he even considers going back to check on the guy but- nope. Once his disbelief at the kid's fail subside, he turns to walk away again]

H-hey!

[Okay, that does it. Honestly, it's not like he was expecting a hug or anything, but Zelos usually at least would tease him, especially over something like that fall! Ignoring him like this was just cold...!

He manages to catch up to him, his arms still wrapped tightly around himself.]

I knew it, it is you! Why are you ignoring me?

[wilder]

[Annd the kid catches up to him. He's half inclined to swear under his breath. He really doesn't want to deal with this stuff on a good day, much less when he's surrounded by snow.]

[And so when he turns to look at Tsuna, he's a bit more curt than normal]

Sorry, do I know you?

[This had never happened to him before. He'd heard of it in Paradisa, where people returned but had forgotten everything... he'd heard of it, but it never happened to him personally.

So when it does, he doesn't really believe it at first, even though he suddenly gets this sinking feeling in his stomach.]

Wh...

[And then he looks angry.]

H-hey! That isn't funny!

[Any moment now, Zelos would break character and laugh, commenting on how he was still way too easy to rile up...]

[wilder]

[He gives a passive wave, not really phased by the kid's anger just because he's annoyed himself] Never said it was.

Afraid you got me mistaken for someone else. It happens a lot.

[It's the red hair that catches his eye. He's not used to seeing hair that bright--all the worlds he's traveled to and he's never run across anyone else with hair quite that shade of red. Intrigued, he follows the man for a bit, maintaining enough distance to stay undetected. He watches the man go out of his way to avoid a snowman in his path, but it's not until he does it a second time that Axel wonders why. Doing something unusual once is just a coincidence, but twice? Twice is a pattern, a quirk, and now he's really curious. Who's afraid of snowmen?

[He moves a bit closer, closing the gap, figuring that if the man notices he's there, then maybe that just makes him even more interesting. Either way, he thinks he might keep an eye on this one.]

[You'll understand if KH3 has a Frozen world, Axel. You'll understand]

[Kaneis had noticed that someone was following him. It's easy when you have hearing as good as an angel's. He hadn't thought much of it at first, it could be just a coincidence. It's only when he starts following him on his detours does it begin to get a little odd. But, he isn't very phased by it.]

[In fact, when Axel finally decides to close the distance, his tone is completely calm. He doesn't even bother looking back at the other man quite yet, so he doesn't see who it is]

If you're hoping for money, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed.

[So he did notice? How interesting~ The fact that he didn't seem thrown off by it at all only makes Axel that much more curious about this man. Stepping out of the shadow of the building and folding his arms, he shakes his head with a grin.]

Munny never interested me as much as people, if we're being honest.

[Not that he knows much about being honest.]

I'm pretty familiar with disappointment, though, and so far I'm not finding any here.

[Honestly, he would have wondered if his guy was hitting on him- hell, maybe he did even think that]

[But those thoughts get thrown on the wayside when he realizes he recognizes the guy stepping out of the shadow. In fact his calm expression betrays just the slightest of surprise. He hadn't known this guy arrived here]

Hey you're-

Lea? [A beat] Or is it something else these days?

[The surprise is gone almost as quickly as it's there, but Axel doesn't miss it. The smallest change in expression can read like a book, and Axel's always been an avid reader, but it's not until the man says that name that a flicker of surprise crosses his own face.

[Lea? There's a name he hasn't heard in the better part of a decade. How the hell does this guy know that name? He's certain he's never seen him before in his life, and he rarely forgets a face. His eyes narrow slightly, and he lifts his chin, frowning.]

Introductions usually start with you giving your own name, not guessing that of your company. I guess I never was much for tradition, though. [He waves one hand.] I dunno any Lea--my name's Axel. Should I guess yours? Maybe I'll just call ya Red.

[Guessing games or not, who is this guy, and where did he hear that name?]

[The look of surprise on Le- Axel's face is enough to tell Kaneis what he needs to know. Whoever this guy was, Lea or Axel, he didn't know who Kaneis was. Just like Riku, it wasn't the guy that he knew]

[Great. But could be worse, at least he wasn't calling him Zelos. Still, it sucks that he made the same slip so many have done to him. Ugh.]

[But past that initial surprise, he does his best to keep it cool. He prefers it that way, after all. So he just wrinkles his nose at the nickname]

You should know better than to stoop to that cliche. [Seriously man, seriously] But alright. It's Kaneis. Kaneis Major.

[Something is very very odd here. The way this guy takes a moment to process Axel's name leaves him wondering if maybe they have met--it's like he's trying to line something up that doesn't quite fit together. No one should have known that name, he hadn't gone by it in ten years. Unless this guy came from Radiant Garden or something... no way, he definitely would have remembered someone like this.

[Shoving his hands into the pockets of his coat, Axel regards Kaneis a moment, then ventures a slightly crooked smile.]

Cliché's a cliché for a reason: if the shoe fits, you know? Nice to meet you, Kaneis Major. [Or have they already met? He supposes only time will tell.] Don't worry, I'm not here for your munny. I just happened to notice you seem to have an unusual abhorrence for snowmen. I figured there had to be a good story there.

[ he was just sipping away at a hot beverage (he's not sure what it is, to be honest, he just wanted something warm and sweet... that's probably an unsafe idea, but eh whatever) when he steps outside and catches kaneis' rather strange method of ambling around. he raises his eyebrows, takes a sip of his drink, and follows, to catch up. ]

Hey. Not enjoying the weather either, huh.

[wilder]

[He'll actually stop in his step when he hears the familiar footsteps of Riku coming up, and wait for him]

[When he gets near enough, he'll give him a shrug]

Nah. I'm more of a spring or summer kind of guy. You?

[limitstorm]

[ aw, you do care, you grump!

riku scratches his cheek. ]

I grew up by the beach, so I guess summer's more my element. I've only seen snow once before this. [ ...... and that's as much as he's willing to share for today. maybe.

seeing a snowman ahead, he starts to veer before kaneis does. he doesn't know why he's doing it, but he doesn't need to. ]

[wilder]

[He makes a "tut" sound with his tongue] Lucky.

[But he notices that veer and...honestly, he appreciates it and follows along. And since he knows Riku probably wouldn't want to dwell on his home, he'll speak to partly distract]

My hometown was all built on a large hill. If you could find a spot high enough to see past the city walls, you could see all the way to the Fooji mountains on a clear day.

It's way warmer than Flanoir to the north, but unfortunately on colder years we'd still get a fair amount of snow.

[ riku makes a face. ]

I guess it's... pretty. I'd rather eat snow than walk in it. Your hometown sounds like a nice place, though. I wonder if it's a world I could find.

[ he frowns after a moment, though, and looks at him sidelong. ]

You alright?

[wilder]

[He makes a heh sound] Just try not to eat too much of it. And...I guess it wasn't perfect, but it had it's good sides.

[He has such conflicted feelings at home. But at that question, there's a pause before he gives a very slight shake of his head. Anyone else, he'd immediately deflect. But it is Riku.]

Just trying not to dwell on some bad parts of the past. Is it that noticeable?

When you live on an island, you can never have too much shaved ice. [ he laughs quietly, but sobers as he rubs the back of his head. ]

You avoiding snowmen? Noticeable. You not being okay? Not noticeable, unless you know what to look for.

[Milla isn't watching him but she was looking for him. She made a promise after all and a promise is meant to be kept. So he can have Milla proudly walking up to him once she spots him, a spear over her shoulder with various fish skewed through on it. She can't keep the grin off her face.]

Said I would, didn't I?! So I did! Now pick your fish out and I'll find somewhere around here to cook up something delicious!

[wilder]

[Kaneis meanwhile stops in his track, looking sincerely surprised. Because yeah- he remembers that girl! And he remembers talking about food! But he didn't think she was ACTUALLY sincere about it! So yes. This gesture is a sincere surprise.]

You...actually got me fish?
