[ Obi-Wan is no stranger to waking up to unknown locations, but this seemed odd . . . even for him. He gropes for his lightsaber . . . which is gone, obviously. He huffs, before straightening himself and brushing his hair back. Communications . . . communications . . . ah, there it is.

A video feed. Somewhat archaic, but it'll do. He doubts anyone from the Republic will be nearby, but perhaps the locals will offer some aid. Obi-Wan clears his throat before speaking. It's time for his other skill set to come in use. ]

Greetings. My name is General Kenobi. To whom do I have the pleasure of addressing? And I don't suppose there is someone willing to answer my questions? Because I have a great deal many of them.

[Ah. This is awkward. Ahsoka is glad this conversation is happening over video, so he can't sense her sidestepping around the truth.]

Ah. She's his daughter, actually. [AMONG OTHER THINGS.] From our perspective, she'll be born a few months from now. There's two others here like that. A ship captain named Han Solo, and another Jedi named Luke. You've probably sensed him already.

[She deliberately does not mention Luke's last name. She powers on.]

They're all from the same time, or near as I can work out, anyway. About two decades ahead of us.

[beardstrokes]

I did sense someone powerful . . . so that was Luke.

[ And something familiar about it, but if he is a Jedi, chances are Obi-Wan knows him. Or will know him. The Force works in mysterious ways. ]

There are quite a few Jedi here that our captors have managed to procure. That's more than a little worrying.

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka's gaze grows serious, then.]

Anyone can kidnap someone else, with the right preparations.

Keeping them contained is another matter. I'm happy to show them the error of their ways. [There's an edge to her voice that Obi-Wan is probably familiar with. Anakin gets it, too-- when he's planning something.]

[beardstrokes]

I'm sure you're not the only one there.

[ But he keeps his tone gentle. Error, he's willing to show them. Beyond that becomes vengeance. ]

This setup . . . seems like a lot of power was invested in a game. A little too much power.

[resnipstance]

I hate to say it, but... I agree.

For people who can kidnap anyone from any galaxy at will-- they're very invested in making sure we stay here. I don't know about you, but I'm not interested in sticking around long enough to find out why that is.

[beardstrokes]

No. But I might stay . . . just to make sure everyone else manages to leave.

[ If things go badly . . . and the chances are high, he wants to stay this time. He won't leave behind another Mandalore. ]

[resnipstance]

... What?

Of course. You can't think I'd just plan my own escape and just leave everyone else here?

[Has his opinion of her dropped so low because she left the Order?]

[beardstrokes]

[ That remark was surprising. He wasn't expecting that kind of defensiveness. Still, he takes it calmly. ]

No, and that's not what I meant either. I was simply speaking my own feelings on the matter.

[resnipstance]

... Oh. Right-- of course.

[She feels a little foolish, suddenly. Of course Obi-Wan hasn't changed his opinion of her just because she left. That's not what he's like.]

Well. Obviously I would stay too. There are a lot of civilians here, after all.

[Spoken truly like someone who still doesn't consider herself to be a civilian.]

[beardstrokes]

[ Obi-Wan doesn't point that out. He simply smiles, congenial. ]

Well, then. I'll be counting on your support.

[resnipstance]

Hey now. How do you know it won't be me counting on yours? I've been here way longer than all of you, after all. Technically, I have the seniority on this one.

[beardstrokes]

You would enjoy that. But I'll defer to your expertise.

[resnipstance]

Of course. It's not every day I can claim to be more knowledgeable on a subject than you.

[beardstrokes]

Then you had best treasure it.

[ Because it won't happen again. ]

[With a teasing grin:]

[ He raises his eyebrows at that. ]

So. Captain Solo. Smuggler, right?

[resnipstance]

[With a small shrug:]

I've never actually asked. But I wouldn't bet against it.

He's a good guy, though. Despite that.

He seems to know me personally, from the future. It's going to take some getting used to.

[ That tone he used was too familiar. ]

In fact, I think there's a lot you haven't said, Ahsoka. But I'm sure you have your reasons.

[Ahsoka blinks, surprised. That is news to her. Then again-- once she thinks about it, it shouldn't be surprising. She just hadn't connected the dots. But if Han is Luke's friend, and Luke is Anakin's son... it makes sense.]

Really? Huh. I actually didn't know that. The more you know.

[resnipstance]

[Then she smiles apologetically.]

... Can't get much past you, huh?

You're right-- there are some things I'm not saying. But... they aren't my things to say.

[beardstrokes]

Very well. I shall not pry. I imagine I will find out soon enough.

[ If they're all together on these ships, these answers will ferret themselves out, without anyone's help. ]

[resnipstance]

[ Time for another topic, one that might be more uncomfortable. ]

I hear Anakin is giving you a rough time.

[resnipstance]

[Hoo boy. Here we go. Ahsoka sighs.]

... So you heard about that, huh.

[Well, that's not surprising. The whole fleet must have heard about it, by now. Their argument was not exactly private.]

It's not as bad as it sounds. We had a... bit of a blow-up. When he first arrived. It was bad. And public. But it's fine now! We made up. Sort of. It's weird.

[beardstrokes]

Well . . . I trust you two can handle it.

[ And he's loathe to interfere, no matter what Anakin says. Certainly, he'll step in if it gets out of hand, but that's all he's willing to do. ]
