Gumball Wishes and Taxicab Dreams

The cargo holds are full of mysterious crates! The crews are filling beyond capacity with new faces! Official alerts are informing the passengers that they are signed to contracts that they've never agreed to! They are docking at the dazzling FS Starlight, but are flat broke!

That's pretty smart. I never had any use for money except to upgrade our ship, so I didn't even think to keep some cash on hand. I wish I had now... I want to make sure my crew can eat.

[WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT... Ling is caught with his food in his mouth to simply stare. Carefully he swallows and assumes a more defensive tone in his voice.]

... you're not going to try and ask for money, are you?

[It would be kind of hard to say no, given that Ling kind of ate Ed out of house and home in Amestris, but he's not sure Greed would agree.]

No, I think we'll be fine- I've gotten some wages for working security and driving a taxicab. The others seem to be getting by fine so far, and Atroma's still providing us with protein, at least.

[avaricious]

[An eyebrow.]

... a taxicab? And you managed to fit inside?

I tried to get a license just as a joke, and lo and behold... they gave me one. I usually had to take my head off and put it on the dashboard, though.

[... well, that had to be a sight. Ling regrets missing it.]

I'm sure your passengers must have enjoyed climbing into a cab with a headless driver. You didn't have any run away screaming, did you?

Nah, most of them found it entertaining. Especially if they were drunk. I'm just glad nobody tried to steal it or put it on.

[Drunk passengers. Al, what are you doing......]

I didn't think you were old enough to drive.

I'm not sure that matters to people here... so long as they have bodies to drive. They don't seem overly concerned with staying inside the law.

I see... remind me not to use any taxis while I'm here. [It sounds like a disaster just waiting to happen.]

I don't blame you there. I mean, I managed to get where I was going, but there were several close calls, too.

Excellent to hear. Though I hope it isn't keeping you too distracted from your research. [He gets that look in his eyes when there's something he wants. It's one of those times where it becomes difficult to tell the difference between him and Greed.]

Not at all. I was hoping to find something in the library on the Iskaulit to help, but it seems like alchemy as we know it is pretty exclusive to our world. I've got a few circles I think may work, but... I wish there was a way to test them to be sure. Or that Brother was here to help...

Well, I saw the one your brother used in Gluttony's stomach... but I don't really recall what it looks like. I would know it if I saw it, though.
