The cargo holds are full of mysterious crates! The crews are filling beyond capacity with new faces! Official alerts are informing the passengers that they are signed to contracts that they've never agreed to! They are docking at the dazzling FS Starlight, but are flat broke!

[She shakes her head.] No, no, I meant- nevermind. What the fuck is a superweapon?

General Grievous was trying to buy a large Kyburr crystal. It's what powers our lightsabers. One that large though . . . I'm not sure how they would plan on using it, but I'm sure it was nothing good.

[goodjob]

It's a weapon that's super, isn't it. [God, she hates space. She rubs at her face a little.] Jesus. I guess if you got Jedi, that... makes sense. [About as much sense as anything.]

[beardstrokes]

If it helps, it's not all that common.

[ The last thing he dealt with that could be classified as such was the Malevolence and that at least had the decency to be a spaceship as well. ]

Well, yeah, or they wouldn't be super. [She pinches the bridge of her nose.] You destroyed it, though; that's what counts. I mean, is that a normal day for a Jedi?

[beardstrokes]

[ Faintly amused. ]

Fairly average, I would say. It's not a Jedi life if you're not saving the galaxy on a regular basis.

Yeah, but do you get good benefits? [It's not really a question. She's joking out of some last-ditch habit, and anyway, Obi-Wan at least gets very good dental. She shakes her head.] Sounds like a good life. Like a superhero without all of the... weird dick stuff. [How eloquent.]

[beardstrokes]

That's a matter of debate, I'm afraid. A lot of people aren't cut out for the Jedi life or have their own interpretation of how our lifestyle is or should be.

[ He gets it from strangers, the Senate, naysayers. He's long given up expecting people to understand what it means to be a Jedi. ]

Well, fuck them. [Easily said.] You're the one doing it. I mean, you don't need me to tell you that, but c'mon.

[beardstrokes]

[ He resists the impulse to chide her on her language. He was not her teacher after all, but the habit is ingrained. ]

Well, everyone's entitled to their opinion.

[goodjob]

[Hey, if she'd listen to anyone on that count, it'd probably be him.]

[Well, right now, anyway.]

[Maybe.]

Yeah, but that doesn't mean they're right. I know plenty've people with all kinds of opinions, doesn't mean I gotta consider 'em. [She strokes her chin, pseudo-thoughtful, on the word 'consider'. That is a dig.]

[beardstrokes]

[ That movement catches his eye. He tends to do that a lot. They must have spent a fair amount of time together for such a thing to catch on. ]

Well, I never said they were right.

[goodjob]

[Caught on, or know him well enough to gently mock him. Fiona's closest friendships can be kind and close, but she's not known for gentleness. Accordingly, her smile's a bit rough.] What d'you think?

[beardstrokes]

[ He smiles mysteriously. ]

What I think doesn't really matter.

[goodjob]

[Two can play at that game. Well, minus the mysterious part.] It does to me. I asked, didn't I?

[beardstrokes]

[ He shrugs loosely. ]

It doesn't really matter to me. As long as I know what I believe.

[goodjob]

[Fiona cocks her head.] You're enjoying this, aren't you. [She snorts.] Maybe it's part of the mystical Jedi thing. No straight answers. [She wiggles her fingers a little, attempting to mimic the mind trick thing, but she hasn't seen that movie in over a decade, and it ends up a little close to what a priest does when they bless someone. Close enough, right?]

[beardstrokes]

[ He makes no excuses, simply smiling. ]

That is part of our appeal.

[goodjob]

Oh, so that matters. [Said with a laugh.]

[She notices that she's finished her drink.] It was nice seeing you. Promise it won't be so fucking depressing next time. [If there is a next time. That's in his hands, probably.]

[beardstrokes]

[ He gets up to place a hand on her shoulder. ]
