[Dorian spends a fair deal of time poking around the ship before deciding to try out sending a broadcast. He's not entirely certain how he knows how to use the device, only that he does, and that almost unnerves him.

Still, his voice is pleasant, almost chipper.]

Well, if this isn't a curious little jaunt that I didn't exactly expect to take this afternoon. I do hope someone might be able to enlighten me as to where, exactly, I am...and when, for that matter. ...and where one might find passable reading material would also be appreciated.

I seem to have had the dubious pleasure of being dropped into the future before- who can say for certain what is possible with such magic?

It's like I said- you're likely not even in the same dimension as your world. These guys seem to grab people from different worlds, different times, different timelines. Don't know how they do it, but there you have it.

Curious! I'll have to do a bit more research, see if there is anything related among these worlds that might make such a thing possible.

I've been in this situation before. The last time, it was a group grabbing people to fight in their war.

Of course. some of the people they grabbed really didn't want to fight. So, they worked together with some of our more...sympathetic recruiters to find a way to send people who didn't want to fight home.

Well, it worked. It worked so well, it led a hostile force right to an unsuspecting world.

Well you don't seem like the easily spooked type, so vague ominous words wouldn't be nearly as funny. And you seem clever enough to catch veiled mocking.
