001 // too much time

Who: DORIAN THE EXPLORIAN (Dorian Pavus)
Broadcast: Video, fleet-wide
Action: The Marsiva~
When: 1/21

[Dorian spends a fair deal of time poking around the ship before deciding to try out sending a broadcast. He's not entirely certain how he knows how to use the device, only that he does, and that almost unnerves him.

Still, his voice is pleasant, almost chipper.]

Well, if this isn't a curious little jaunt that I didn't exactly expect to take this afternoon. I do hope someone might be able to enlighten me as to where, exactly, I am...and when, for that matter. ...and where one might find passable reading material would also be appreciated.

...When?

[Oh goddess, please tell him this isn't more time traveling bullshit he is so done with that forever]
wilder: (back turn)

[That's...weird. But at least that sounds like it was accidental rather than intentional. Maybe.]

I'm not sure magic's to blame for this.

But it's safe to say, you're likely not even in the same dimension as your home. Or time, for that matter.

Ah, yes. How unbecoming of you. [Not doing introductions after being kidnapped. How rude]

Kaneis.
wilder: (You don't have a head injury do you?)

Abducted in the middle of the night?

No, can't say I was. I was actually...traveling somewhere. Guess I got caught on the way.
wilder: (dilemma (Sheena))

[A beat before he answers]

To another dimension, actually. A world called Ephinea, specifically.
wilder: (so the story fits)

Separate, far as I know.

It's like I said- you're likely not even in the same dimension as your world. These guys seem to grab people from different worlds, different times, different timelines. Don't know how they do it, but there you have it.
wilder: (pain in the ass...)

...Yeah. Good luck with that.

[Sounded like way too much work to suit Kaneis's interests. But hey, whatever floats this guy's boat.]
wilder: (holding you back a long time)

Good for you.

Though, if you do find anything- I'd recommend you keep your findings purely theoretical.
wilder: (no seriously what is this fuckery)

[OH BOY THAT'S THE BEST QUESTION;]

I've been in this situation before. The last time, it was a group grabbing people to fight in their war.

Of course. some of the people they grabbed really didn't want to fight. So, they worked together with some of our more...sympathetic recruiters to find a way to send people who didn't want to fight home.

Well, it worked. It worked so well, it led a hostile force right to an unsuspecting world.

Sure. Scale it to an entire planet, and that's about right. They wanted the resources. They didn't view the people as that.

[The memories of that day still show up when he actually sleeps. He was a fighter, he's seen wars. But that...that beyond anything else]

[A chilling warning, but he felt it was a necessary one if this guy really was set on researching dimensional travel. At least he didn't seem interested in pursuing time travel- don't get him started on the horrors of time travel]

[But at least he seems to accept this reaction, so his tone gets a little bit lighter]

Sure, sure. Nothing like getting to greet someone with doom and gloom. I don't get to do it nearly enough anymore.

Someone like you?

[He makes a "hmmm" noise]

Well you don't seem like the easily spooked type, so vague ominous words wouldn't be nearly as funny. And you seem clever enough to catch veiled mocking.

So....idle banter? I don't know, I'm not much for the welcoming committee.
