[Ahsoka lets herself in to the Blameless to check on Luke, only to be greeted by a peculiar sight indeed. When she sees Luke meditating while doing a handstand, she can only stop and stare, eyes perplexed.

She says nothing, not wanting to disturb him and preferring to wait until he's finished, but her presence in the Force is clear as ever.]

[When he meditates like this, he gains a clarity he usually has to struggle to achieve. It comes and it goes, blurring his ability to measure time, making it impossible to tell how long he's been balancing. He only knows things have changed by his other senses.]

[Something shifts before him, bright and warm, like a flickering flame.]

...Ahsoka.

Hey.

Sorry. I hope I didn't interrupt. ... Do you always meditate like that?

I... [Slowly, the floating bits of junk begin to softly settle on the ground. Luke rights himself and sits on the floor, noticing for the first time how sweaty he's gotten. Gross.]

Not all the time. But once a week, at least. [He figures that's probably less than the normal amount for Jedi like Ahsoka.]

... Huh. Does it... help?

Um. [???] Yes? The only time I've had visions, it was... [Wait, wait, rewind.] Does it help you?

[resnipstance]

I don't know. I don't think I've ever meditated standing on my hands before...

[t65]

[Luke folds his arms in what would be a pout if he wasn't a grown man.] Yoda told me it was a way to center the mind. I didn't ask him if it was a trade secret. [Whiiiine.]

Well, maybe he hasn't developed the technique yet in my time.

Here, let me try.

[Ahsoka goes forward easily into a handstand on the cargo room floor.]

[While watching Ahsoka get ready, Luke goes full power converters:] He's almost a thousand years old! I don't really think he was coming up with new techniques.

"full power converters" i laughed

You never know! Part of the Jedi code is dedicating yourself to life-long self improvement, you know.

Now shh, I'm trying to concentrate.

[Luke slumps in the corner, and it could really be far more childish considering how disappointed he is with Yoda right now.]

[...So Luke makes up the difference by throwing credit chits and spare bits of scrap paper at Ahsoka a few minutes after her eyes close.]

[Ahsoka lifts one hand, levitating the things Luke tries to throw at her.

After the sixth or so item, however, she starts to lose her focus, and tumbles down on the ground gracefully with a roll. She sighs.]

No good. All the blood keeps rushing to my head!

It did for me too. For the first week. But Yoda insisted I kept trying. [He sighs.] What do you do to center yourself, Ahsoka?

[resnipstance]

Sometimes I meditate too. Just-- not doing handstands. You know, sitting normally.

Otherwise, sometimes I go through my lightsaber forms. Moving meditation.

[t65]

We did a little of that. Yoda said I needed to stay still; I was too impatient. [Reckless, daring, thoughtless, you know, the usual.] Maybe that's why he had me do it, and not you.

[resnipstance]

Maybe.

Have you tried building or fixing things? For meditation, I mean. That's what Anakin does, when he's agitated.

Well, yes, but that's not... is that meditation? For Jedi- Jedi from your time? [Is that permissible? He can just hear Yoda telling him how he has to focus, how tinkering with crude implements is just another vestige of impatience and a severe lack of vision.]

[resnipstance]

It's not exactly traditional, but if it works, who cares? Everyone is different. What works for one person isn't necessarily going to work for another. I think sometimes... some of the more conventional Jedi ways fail to take that into account.

[t65]

But how am I to know the traditional Jedi from the traditionalists? [Wait, actually, more importantly... Luke looks up at Ahsoka with a painfully earnest intensity:] Was my father a traditional Jedi?

[resnipstance]

Absolutely not. That's why we worked so well together.

[t65]

Oh. [Luke isn't sure whether to be relieved or disappointed.] What about Ben?

[resnipstance]

Obi-Wan? Obi-Wan is... I guess you could say he's the model. The pinnacle of what a Jedi traditionally should be.

[t65]

[Luke isn't sure what to make of that.] And Yoda?

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka frowns, clearly not quite so pleased.]

Yoda too. I guess.
