[Bigby nods and then leans over and noses Sascha.]

[ Nosing...♥ Sascha would do anything Bigby told him to after that. In fact he even chuckles a little when it happens, nodding eagerly and seating himself without hesitation. ]

[Bigby settles and starts to talk.

All Fables are storytellers. It's part of them. Bigby is as much a storyteller as the rest of them, telling the fairytale version of Puss in Boots in his own, Bigby way.]

[ Sascha listens with rapt attention, probably the best he's ever done all things considered. But really, it's not hard when his narrator is a giant wolf with a very Bigby way of talking and telling. He doesn't have any overblown reactions like normal, whih is an attestment to how keenly he's listening; he saves all that for the end. ]

Wow...hahaha!! That's an awesome cat~! No wonder he didn't wanna pretend to be a normal one after all that.

[Bigby has an admiration of wits and thus, he admires the sheer balls and cleverness of that cat. He gets why Puss hates the farm.]

No. He's not normal. He's an exceptional fucking animal, but without a glamour, he can't be in town as himself and he can't afford a glamour that would cover the mass difference. He's not a big cat.

Ooh...is that like when you're in beard mode? Glamour is when you change? [ Because Bigby has used that word several times now, and Sascha's not 100% clear on it's meaning. ]

A glamour is a magic spell that makes you seem to be someone else, or something else, but only while the magic is active. It fools the senses, rather than actually changing things.

So...like an illusion? [ Huh. He thought all Fairy Tales were like Bigby with their shape changing, so this is new and interesting information. He files that away to remember, hands pressing onto his ankles as he leans forward a bit. ]

How do you know what you're going to look like when you use it?

Sort of. Close enough. [Discussing the size but not necessarily mass altering properties of magic is going to go over Sascha's head and frankly, Bigby doesn't think he understands it completely himself.]

You've worked it out with the witch who's making it. Usually, these days, it's 'a human version of me'. Though... Crane used it to make a hooker called Lily look like Snow while he fucked her.

[His hackles have gone up and his lip is doing the angry dog twitchng snarl thing.]

[ He has no idea who Crane, Lily, or Snow are but from the way Bigby's lips curl and his nose wrinkles, he thinks better than to just reply flippantly. ]

...He's not a good guy, huh? That's kinda creepy.

He's a creep and I fucking hate him. I've never liked him. He taught me things about passing as a human. What not to say, how to lie to people successfully, what humans are really like.

[Crane probably did no small amount of damage in how Bigby views male humans. He's also responsible for the school of hard knocks that Bigby is putting Sascha through.]

He was the deputy mayor of Fabletown. And Snow was his assistant.

I don't know if lying to people is the best way to act human... I think telling the truth is way better. [ Not that he has the capacity to lie himself, but this incarnation of himself very much prefers the truth regardless of how unpleasant it is. He doesn't like trying to lie when it comes to dealing with people. ]

Trust me, kid. Lying is one of the most fundamental human traits. Crane taught me that, back when I first started walking on two legs.

I prefer the truth. But it's not always safe, or better. Sometimes, you should just keep your mouth shut and say nothing.

[ In his case, telling people what he is is probably the big one. But it's not so much a big deal here in the fleet. No one seems to mind. ]

Don't tell them you're a vampire. Not until you know them a bit. I get that most of the Fleeters are fine to tell, but you could get lynched.

They could hurt you, bad. Or, you might have to hurt them to stop them hurting you and people you're with. Don't tell people outside the Fleet you're a vampire.

Ah...haha, yeah. People don't like us much...but if someone wanted to eat from me all the time I guess I wouldn't like them much either.

[ Oh who is he kidding, yes he would. He's just that desperate. ]

[In fairness, which Bigby isn't about himself, he can't help but knock Sascha about in that tiny room. But he doesn't go out of his way to avoid it. Sascha's a Fable, basically. He can take a bit of mistreatment.]

[ He can take a lot of mistreatment, but he wouldn't call what Bigby's been doing that at all. He's...well, big. And the room is small. And either way, he gets to be near him which is what matters. ]
