We have a masquerade coming up, and I was bored so I thought I'd mettle in people's lives for my own amusement. First, the disclaimer, there is nothing wrong with going to a dance solo.

Now, for anyone else, who wants a date?

Sorry, not me. Taken. But there are probably some of you out there thinking a date would be fun, and sure, why not? So speak up. Let's make some love connections. Or, you know, awkward dancing connections. I'm a mutant, not a miracle worker.

[Unfazed by that at this point.] Fair enough. But, yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of this moon either. I just like a good dance I guess. [Fond memories from before there were too few of those.]

I haven't heard about any knife-wielding enforcers, but somehow I think you could handle yourself if that's all they were packing.

And I'm pretty sure I haven't been to one of those formal, upper-class events since... High school? Definitely haven't danced since then. Hell, I've only been on one date at all since then that I know of.

[Let's not mention any of the other relevant points about why she suddenly stopped attending formal events. She does laugh a little at that second part, though.]

Yeah, a couple casts of Fire3 does tend to take out most people. Magic is pretty great.

I never actually made it to high school. [Because of war. She lived through that time period.] But I did go to prom in prison? [What is normal life?]

Well, sure, why waste Fire1 or Fire2 when you can go right to three? Now, run the part where you've only been on one date sine then that you know of by me again. Could you have been on dates you didn't know about?

... I wasn't aware prison had proms?

Well, yeah, Fire and Fire2 are a lot weaker. If someone was coming at me with a knife, why bother with the weaker ones?

And, it's a very long story, but the short version is yeah, it's possible, just exceedingly unlikely. Especially after how the one I do remember went.

It's not supposed to have beaches, pet shops, or law-abiding citizens either. Call it progressive.

Why not just go with Fire162?

[Nodding and wondering how that's possible, but she knows how things can be in the various multidimensional traps so she accepts it.] Want me to send any other women seeking women your way or are you writing the dance off?

... Because it's the third-tier fire spell? And the basic elemental spells end at the third tier, anyway.

[Honestly, she'd like to blame amnesia, but in reality, she is just so dense it's entirely possible she's been on dates without realizing it.]

Well... I have been looking to try dating again, I guess. I don't feel like going solo, but if I was going with someone, I wouldn't mind.

I gathered. The first thing you should know about magic is that it's the best, and anyone who says otherwise is just mad at how less effective they are than a proper mage.

... Okay, I have to admit here, I'm sort of an amnesiac, and don't remember a lot of things. But I remember enough of high school science to know that that is not how atoms work. Like, at all.

After the Pokemon, I'm not sure why I bother questioning anything anymore.

Oh, um... They're weird sort of... Little monster things from my little sister's world. Most of them are cute, and then some of them are apparently powerful enough to destroy and recreate her world.

I stopped questioning it after a while.

Kind of an adopted sister situation? [She has picked up some family-like people along the way herself. No one she officially gives a title to though.]

Yeah. Technically, we're teammates, but it's a bit of a pain to explain that part here.

You don't have to go into it. I get the teammate bond. Or at least I get the ones I have. I know they can be strong.
