[ In her broadcast, Kara is in her PJs, hair down and glasses off. She looks like she just woke up not too long ago and the overall vibe is very "confessional vlog". She doesn't seem distressed, just a little confused, and tired—though her eternal optimism is always there somewhere. ]

Hey, so, question: On a scale from "wow that's super weird we've never heard of something like that" to "it must be a Wednesday on the Fleet", how common is it to just like, get a bunch of "new" information from home? Which, now that I think about it, is kind of a dumb thing to ask because we have implants that give us job skills training. But I'm just wondering. Uh, in the abstract? Something like that.

Anyway, I'm going to go get some coffee and food because I'm starving. Who knew that sleeping was such hard work?

I'd rather be over here. This is important stuff and I need to talk to Winn about everything, but it's not really a group conversation.

[he quirks a wry smile] I know. I would've waited until after that.

[he winces a little, sympathetic]

Yeah, that's . . . not fun. Especially when it's just - sort of thrown at you, like this.

Yeah. It's... invasive?

My sister's a fugitive from the law. There's a substance that can make me like the worst person on the planet—mean, and cruel, and just awful. Oh, and Winn just had to date my work nemesis, who turned out to be a super powered nemesis. Surprise!

[that is the worst surprise to ever exist]

. . . incredibly invasive. Geez. [all of that happened in a matter of a month??]

I - why is your sister a fugitive? What happened? [let's. let's start asking about the beginning]

So, I told you about the DEO, right? The organization we work with? Well, Hank Henshaw is the director there and he's... actually a Martian. Like, from Mars.

Turns out when the government is funding an alien hunting organization, they don't like it when an alien assumes the identity of the director. But J'onn—that's his real name—he's a good man. One of the best, actually. That doesn't seem to matter. They arrested him and Alex, for her loyalty, and were going to take her to Project CADMUS, which is like... I don't know. Apparently it's the sort of place where they research aliens. And who knows what they'd do to Alex.

[ the implication of "research" here is very clear. Probably too clear to Hank ]

[it's incredibly, painfully clear. His expression goes from worried and surprised to worried anger on Kara's behalf, and he crosses his arms so he doesn't end up digging his claws into something instead]

That never matters. [he says quietly, agreeing] But - fugitive would imply that she didn't get there? Either of them?

Yeah, as far as I know they're hiding out. Which, they have some advantage with, Hank—J'onn being a shapeshifter and all.

[he nods, some of the anger fading for relief]

Good. Not - that they have to hide, but that they're safe for now.

It makes me feel like I should be there, though.

I know. I'm sorry. [he can't imagine how tough that is]

Do you think we're missing at home? Like, do you think time is on hold, or that it's still going?

I - no. I think . . . time stops, when we're in places like this. And it only resumes once we're sent back, or - what happened to you.

[in some ways, he has to think of it like that]

It's just confusing. And so much happened...

[ she clears her throat ]

Anyway. At least I know for sure at home that the multiverse exists.

I can only imagine. But -

Yep. A hero from another Earth showed up, helped me out, and I helped him get back. There were a lot of similarities but some major differences.

[it was one thing to know about it from being in places like this, but another entirely to experience it like that]

[ they talked about Peter ]

[they did, but he's glad he doesn't have check. He still looks relieved, though. He doesn't want to picture Peter accidentally finding the multiverse]

Huh. Superhero name? Is he an alien as well?

No, I think the term heh prefers is "metahuman".

. . . so he's - his world's version of a mutant.
