Forgetting your breathing mask. [His tail comes up to wave at Sascha like a scolding finger.] Also for not going back soon as you realized you had. What if something happens and the outside air starts leaking in, hm? [He'd teleport Sascha back to the shuttles, but as far as he knows the boy isn't aware he can do that.]

[ It is by far the coolest scolding he's ever received. How often can one boast they get scolded by a tail?? ]

And what if you were delayed in getting back to a place with good air? Or the leak was too quick for you to realize what was happening? [Even a bit tipsy, he's so paranoid.] You have to think about these things. If you get hurt, it will make Kitty sad.

Oh... [ he hadn't even thought about that. Normally he wouldn't need to actually, because no one back home would have cared one way or another. There's no one there to worry about him and whether he's looking after himself like there is here.

Sascha lifts a finger to his lower lip in thought. ]

Yes, she would be. She would yell and throw things at you, possibly a punch, but seeing you hurt would make her sad and afraid. We've both lost so many in our lives.

[The last part is muttered, almost too soft to be heard over the background noise. Darkholme continues as though it hasn't been.] So don't be thoughtless with yourself, boy.

....Okay. [ Would Kitty really do all that over him? He doesn't doubt she's lost people, he has as well. But that's become normal for him now. He outlives the humans and vampires he comes into contact with, and he knows that one day Kitty's going to get old and he'll outlive her too. He just doesn't think about it.

To have someone who would worry about him to that degree though... It's sobering, and Sascha nods. ]

Good boy. [Who worries more about other people than himself to a frightening degree. Is he that indestructible, or does he simply not care?

Kurt pats his back, straightening slightly.] I'll see if we can't find you another mask before we leave here.

[ It's hard to care about oneself and your own well-being when it's not...something anyone else cares about, and everyone else seems so much more vulnerable than him. He wants other people to like him more than anything, regardless of what it means for him. ]

O...okay. [ He blinks a bit at the pat, having not expected it, but he'll try to offer a smile of gratitude anyway. ] I won't go outside without one.

See that you don't. [Kurt pauses, the hesitation in Sascha's answer clicking in his brain--leading to the entirely wrong conclusion.] I'm making you uncomfortable.

[ There's what feels like an abyss of miscommunication sometimes, because all the steps Kurt takes to do the right thing are the opposite of what Sascha's come to expect. He isn't used to consideration (lectures, however...) and he isn't sure what to do when his own discomfort is pointed out.

He hadn't even consciously thought of it like that. It was just...normal. Or well, it was normal under different circumstances. he's not used to be at odds because of consideration and empathy/ ]

[Kurt simply watches him while he stutters and stammers to a halt, because he's an ass like that.]

I know I'm different. Which difference is causing you distress? [His voice is as carefully neutral as his expression, both with just a hint of curiosity as to the answer. Kurt honestly isn't offended, yet. But as with their previous meeting in the market place, he can't resist the urge to tease.]

The...touching way. [ It's because Kurt is a cheeky old man. Who apparently has no physical aversions to vampires, which is do etching Sascha wasn't prepared for. He'd better clarify. ]

People don't, um. Like being near me normally.

And I look like the devil in blue fur. Some people don't like being near me either. [And some like being near him too much for all the wrong reasons, but so far he hasn't had that problem here. Kurt's hoping it stays that way; feeling like an object is never fun.]

You wouldn't be the first. Emma, the first woman I was in a serious relationship with, was fascinated by my fur.

[He pauses, then makes a sound suspiciously close to a giggle.] Of course, when I met her she'd intended to skin me for it. I never did find out what she intended to make of it.

.........And you still dated her??? [ KURT. I mean...in that case Sascha would still probably date whoever it was that wanted to skin him too, but that's because he settles for anything. Why is Kurt so giddy over this. ]
