He obediently looks about at the other people. Thing is, they're not you, is all he can think. She's terribly beautiful just being her, and he knows half of this is his deep friendship with her and half of this is a terrible crush. He's already decided he's not going to tell her. It'll pass.

He smiles and looks down at his hands. "If you say so." He looks back up at her, still smiling. "Okay, then. Which ones do you like the best?"

Crushes are terrible things; make messes of perfectly delightful friendships. She knows. She has several of them, and they are ridiculous agony. It's a wise choice not to tell her, though, for she wouldn't know what to do with it. Die of anxiety and blushing most likely.

On the other hand, if she knew, and they came to an understanding on it, she would be very empathetic. Not to mention it would make compliments easier to bear, since they'd have a reason she could make sense of. The trick would be to manage that understanding first. Yes, best not to tell her.

She looks out at the crowd gathered and points out a few folk. "The tall dark haired elf, Maglor. He's dressed like some kind of ocean spirit I think. And I like the peacock too. I think that's Felix. I taught him how to climb trees."

He grins. "Did you? Is he an expert tree climber now?"

"Oh no," she laughs. "I doubt he'll ever climb another unless I drag him up again. Poor man was absolutely terrified he'd fall. I promised him I wouldn't let him."

"Poor guy," he says with a laugh. "At least you're good for your word. He'd probably pee his pants if he'd seen some of the things I've done in dream share."

"I don't really think he's the sort to express himself so. And he worried more than he feared, and I think in the end he liked the thrill. But," she sips her champagne. "I should very much like to hear about the things you've gotten up to in dreams."
