[Kurt's noticed that. He's fairly jealous, truth be told. So many times his life would've been easier if he were that durable.]

You say that, but I was a few seconds away from trying to hurt you. [His voice is soft and still apologetic, because Apollo hadn't done anything wrong. He'd just startled Kurt, who's not been accustomed to people picking him up since Piotr died. He used to sit like this all the time on the other man's arm, or his shoulder--and that's his cue to slide off, landing nimbly on his feet.]

[Apollo shrugs.]

I'm pretty difficult to hurt. Not saying you couldn't, but it takes a lot to do me real damage.

[He's quite prepared to let Kurt keep sitting there, but when he slides down, he offers his hand again.]

Once more, without the falling over your boots?

[Kurt was incredibly tempted to stay there. Apollo's not so broad as Piotr, but he's warmer and his arm was just as steady under Kurt's weight. It would've been entirely too easy, and comfortable.

The offer gets a surprised blink, and then a smile.]
Okay. Let me just set the bastards down. [He slips between the other dancers nimbly on his way off the dance floor. It takes him less than a minute to return, sans horrible torture devices and walking on the balls of his feet. It adds a bit to his height and a slight sway to his step.] Hallo again. Once more, then? [Kurt reaches for Apollo's hand even as he asks the question.]

[Apollo amuses himself in the mean time, spiralling up into the air and dropping down again, then offering his hands out to Kurt.]

Once more with feeling your feet this time.

[Wait, no, Kurt has to take a minute to laugh softly. That was--he's torn between calling the combination of pun and the theatrics of floating down to him hilarious or cute. That he's even thought the latter is a good argument for cutting himself off for the night.]

Has anyone accused you of having a flair for the dramatic? [He asks while taking the offered hands. Though Apollo is right; without the shoes, Darkholme's much more confident on his feet.]

Yes, frequently. Usually my ex, though most of my team and my daughter have said it as well.

I can't help it. I love flying and I glow when I use my powers. Flair for the dramatic seems to be built in.

I can't imagine why they would say such a thing. [Is that sarcasm thick enough to cut with a knife, yet?

He tilts his head briefly, thoughtful.]
Given what you've said before, if you're being literal I can understand why they would. Making your enemies afraid of you is a good advantage to have.

Yeah, I'm being literal. I think it's built in. I have all kinds of interesting chops and slices in my brain. It's probably built in to be dramatic and frightening.

[Kurt raises an eyebrow, not that the expression is easily visible behind his mask.]

Well, they managed a sense of drama. I wouldn't call you frightening, exactly.

I'm not frightening!

[He laughs as he says it. He believes it.

He's never seen himself in a righteous fury.]

I'm about as menacing as puppies and dandelions.
