[He makes a thoughtful noise.]

A uniform? It could be useful to have on hand for emergencies - unless it's for something more immediate.

Nothing more immediate. Possibly for training purposes too, but I've been making due without it. No, I'm fresh out of knowing what I'm doing with myself here. [Where's the mission? She smiles a little as she says it, but it does bother her.]

[grandstanding]

[He nods to that, getting her meaning. It's a question he's asked himself too, both for this one situation and his life at large.]

It's frustrating. We've been on this moon for a while, too.

[passingthrough]

[She nods.] I like this dance. Okay, I kind of love this dance. [Her smile is just a little sheepish. They found her sweet spot, okay?] But I get antsy with these long stays with so little happening. Is this all there is? Floating from place to place and...shopping? Exploring? [She knows she's been here a little longer of the two of them. She doesn't expect an answer. She just thinks maybe it's a frustration they share.]

[grandstanding]

It dulls the mind. [And that might be the point, he thinks. Lulling them into a false sense of security and peace, to blind them to the cage they're in. He rolls his shoulders a bit, shaking off the chill that runs down his spine.]

There's more to it, I'm sure. But not without prying.

Hmm. [She thinks he has a point there. Then again...] In the prison I always said they were throwing things at us to distract us. I wonder if we just always give the captors too much credit and power. Maybe they're just doing whatever they want because they aren't that threatened by their captives.

[grandstanding]

That wouldn't surprise me either. [Having been kept under the thumb of beings who ranked as demi-gods in their own realms has given him no small amount of perspective about where he is in the food chain. Not somewhere he wants to be. He tosses his head slightly.]

They have an agenda, and it doesn't suit our own. That's enough for me. [Enough for him to resent it.]

Me too. [She tilts her head, curious.] Does that passion come with a plan? [She's been feeling more than a little directionless in the prison and there's only so much a dance or even a new boyfriend can distract her from not having a mission or purpose. She'd managed to build her own in the prison, but it had worn on her and when she arrived here in yet another multidimensional "prison" she was tired more than anything else. She can lead, but she might prefer following again. As long as it's the right leader and the right goal.]

[grandstanding]

[He smirks, and it's a bit self-deprecating. A look he doesn't wear all that well.] It still boils down to "get out." [He doesn't have anything more elaborate than that. But he's been idle long enough, and the confinement is starting to feel like just that: confinement.]

And go where? [Is it a question she shouldn't ask? Maybe it should be obvious. Maybe she's the only one who doesn't want to or can't just go home again.]

[grandstanding]

Home. [No other option occurs to him. He's too invested in the struggles of his people to ever consider going elsewhere.] I've been away too long as it is.

Oh sure that place. I guess that is the normal response.

[grandstanding]

[He knows, however, that Kitty's world is not one she can return to. She had said so, in their first conversation. So there's a pause, before he moves on.]

The ultimate goal is to go where we choose, in the end.

[passingthrough]

[She nods.] We should get to choose. All of us. Without anyone else being captured like this.
