[Not to worry. Her grin only gets wider when he calls her a pirate. She'd ask how he knew, but she's a bartender and tells everyone at the drop of a hat, it's not hard.]

You're certainly better at it than a lot of people I see here. Though in fairness, there's a lot of places out there the waltz probably doesn't even exist.

So you know what I do for a living. How about you? [Let's be fair, here.]

Why thank ya cherie, very kind of ya. [It was said as Remy moved them both into a turn, a slight pause of step afterwards before continuing to move in the dance again.

And that question, it was always a tough one back home, typically answered with the normal line of 'security'. It wasn't a lie, most just assumed it was on the side of helping secure things, not take them. Yet considering where he was, who he was talking to, Remy didn't have to do it. The main question however, how much to play it up? Saying a thief didn't really suit, not quite. A typical thief broke into homes, stole tvs, picked pockets, small stuff. Prince of Thieves also was a bit too much, truth or not.]
'm a master thief.
namisan: (oh romeo romeo)

You don't say. [Though despite the casual response, her eyes light up. Always fun to meet potential partners in crime, especially in places like the Fleet.] I hear pirates and thieves can get on amazingly well. Have a lot of common interests.

[She keeps step with ease, shifting her hand on his arm just a little higher.] Do you have a specialty, master thief?

I do say, [His tone light, joking, making sure to not take stuff too serious despite a serious topic.] 'nd can't say I have run 'nto too many pirates before, so ya certainly settin' a great first 'xperience for me.

I'm... [How to put this?] More towards a jack of all trades, master of none, at least compared to others I have worked with. [Remy's brother had a brilliant mind when it came to working out a plan, his cousin Lapin a computer and technology genius in ways Remy didn't even bother to try and understand.] Some might say I specialize in pullin' it off when things just go to hell.
namisan: (yeah I know I'm good)

[personal profile] namisan 2016-05-09 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like you're halfway to being a pirate yourself, in that case. [She's going to keep the conversation light herself, because it's a party and not the best time for more serious topics. Specially not when they're easily overheard.] Things tend to go to hell on a regular basis for us. [She grins.] My captain's not so great on the planning side.

Ah, I see, more just fly by on the seat of ya pants, hein? [Despite his words Remy was actually a planner, going over every little details ten times over before he committed to a job. But he also had a way of getting through when things went south, able to wing his way out of bad situations. He would say it was having Lady Luck on his side, and Remy was smart enough to know he had been damn lucky to get out alive of some of the worse situations he had gotten himself into. Yet he seemed to just keep putting himself in such places, clearly he was addicted to the life style.] That can be fun, when it works.
namisan: (amusement)

[personal profile] namisan 2016-05-12 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
[She grins.] Well. I vastly prefer trying to be smart about things. You wouldn't believe the amount of times we've come up with a viable strategy just in time to find our captain's gone off to cause havoc on his own. It makes life... interesting.

[There's nothing like coming up with a careful plan for breaking into a government institution only to realise Luffy just went flying over the fence screaming at the top of his lungs to pick a fight.]

[personal profile] cajunspice 2016-05-12 08:43 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, he's one of those. Had one of those in my last team, all actions and no thinkin'. Johnny was good quality people, but easily distracted 'nd wouldn't trust him with anything overly 'mportant. [Unless they needed something burnt to the ground, then Remy knew he could count on his old teammate.]

As ya said, 'nterestin'... 'nd frustratin'.
namisan: (easy there tough guy)

[personal profile] namisan 2016-05-14 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I guess it's just as well things generally tend to fall in his favour. None too bright, but plenty determined. But every now and then it's nice to have things go the quiet, more subtle way.

I was a thief before I was a pirate. [She grins in a way that suggests one occupation didn't really stop because of the other.] My Wanted poster will never let me forget it.

[personal profile] cajunspice 2016-05-17 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
[Remy had felt a little bad at first at assuming what time period or type of world Nami was from, that pirate had instantly brought up the mental image of a pirate long gone from his world, that now only existed in movies, not the modern type, but the mention of the wanted poster did push aside that concern.] Hope they did ya justice, would be a real shame otherwise. [He had been ready to make a comment that it was similar to a bad driver license photo, but that reference might had been lost on her.]
namisan: (plot with me)

[personal profile] namisan 2016-05-17 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
[She grins widely in response to that.]

I seem to have a lot better luck than some of my crewmates in that regard. Pretty sure I have the cutest wanted posters that ever existed.

[If only because she was tricked into posing for it, which is something she's never going to admit to, okay. Photographer says he just wants a picture of a pretty girl, well. Vanity is a flaw.]

[You and he both, Nami. Dieu knows his own vanity could get out of control at times and refused to let him stray too far away from maintaining himself.] Cherie, I don't doubt that for a second. [It was a shame he had chosen a full face mask for the night, unable to flash her a well practiced but stunning smile that backed up that smooth tone he had delivered those words with, an extra purr to them to play up the playful but flirty undertone to them.]
