"No, nothing like that. My dad died when I was born, and my mom ended up giving his car to my uncle, whom I stayed with while my mom went back out with the Fleet with her new husband. Let's just say I did not like my uncle."

"I'm sorry to hear that." Who chooses to leave their family behind like that? So many orphans or abandoned children in this place.

He shrugged his shoulders, clearly not much bothered. Which... was not exactly the truth. It did bother him, but it was more his mother's actions than his uncle, even if he was part of it. He pushed most of those feelings away now, trying to make himself as apathetic as possible when it came to them.

"Thanks, but don't worry to much about it, k?" he bumped his forehead to hers gently. "I'm not one to linger to much in the past, especially when dancing with such a pretty kitty."

"As if I'd waste prime worrying on you, Kirk." She smiles at him. Of course she'd worry. "How long have you been waiting to call me pretty Kitty?"

"Awhile, but I knew I had to save it for the right time. It's not the sort of thing you just throw out there, you know?" he laughed.

"While dancing is a pretty nice unveil. I'll give you that. Witty Kitty would rhyme even better, but if you can't take your eyes off me I guess I'll have to live with it."

"Witty Kitty is for another time," he assured her, giving them a spin. "Pretty Kitty suits you especially tonight."

Spinning! "Well, Winn made the dress. He should probably get the credit for that."

"You were always pretty before - just shines a bit more tonight is all."
