She may spend most her days in worn adventurer's clothes, but there is the soul of an actor and artist inside Syeira. She adores costumes and dress up about as much as anyone. Perhaps more so.

"Any party at all, I'm afraid. My upbringing was very..." What's a good word for it. "Secluded. But you look like you were born to this."

The roll of his shoulder is only the suggestion of a shrug, his gaze dropping to the floor for only a moment. "Perhaps. You'd be surprised what can become second nature to you."

It could be accurate to say that he'd never been shy, but his appetite for attention was honed far before he stepped a toe into the Mirador.

"I imagine they don't hold many balls in libraries." It's a deliberate reference to some of what he already knows about her, or has inferred from the memories. It might have been that the library was merely a metaphor, but something about it seemed too specific to entirely the work of fiction.

An odd reaction, that shrug and his gaze lowering, but it's gone quickly. Which doesn't mean it's nothing. It means that it's not something to talk about here, at a party where everyone is supposed to be having a good time. If it comes up another time, then maybe she can ask, if it feels right. Until then, she'll just pretend she didn't see it at all.

"Balls and parties of any sort tend to disturb the hushed studies, by which I mean, they held exactly none. Though I did see a real gypsy dance once, when they stayed on the fortress lands. I learned a lot from watching them, but it's not quite the same as being a part of things."
