[ not yet, anyway. it's a disadvantage in westeros. the longer they delay, the farther Margaery remains from her crown but here, here it may yet work in her favor and so she stresses the point. She has yet to wear the colors of house Baratheon and being a Tyrell seems safer in this particular setting. ]
I arrived at King's Landing at my lord father's wishes and well after Sansa. It was - odd to many, perhaps. I have taken her place as Queen Consort but we were friends at once when we met. The King - was unkind to her, so much I knew but when I arrived, I have not seen him be cruel to her. Mayhaps because myself and my grandmother favored her so well. She has been my sweetest friend in King's Landing but I told her - that I did so wish I could send her to Highgarden where she could stroll and pick flowers and eat cakes and be away from the capitol. I did hate seeing her so sad.
[ she smiles a little ]
It was what I wished to do as soon as I was wed and crowned queen. A queen would have such authority and Sansa would have been happier but - I came here. How glad I am to see she found you here, your Grace, you cannot imagine.

But he will be. Lord Tyrion has spoken of your marriage. [A huff...] All Lannisters lie, of course. [Yet, Robb believed the Imp’s words. They dance slowly and Robb listens closely. It sounds as if they were moving his sweet sister around as if she were some sort of pawn. Promises of flowers in Highgarden, cruel words and violence in King’s Landing and somewhere lord Baelish took her to the Vale.]
The moment lord Renly fell, Highgarden ran to house Lannister. [A formidable ally lost to a rotten enemy. A shame, Robb could’ve used such forces.] Why has your lord father made that decision? [Probably gold. Probably wanting the best outcome for his daughter who still was, according to the stories, a virgin.] It must not have been your happiness. To marry you off to that arse of a King.
[Robb’s words become crueler and a little bit more bitter. Normally it was his mother standing by him to help him being political. He sighs and smiles in an apologetic way, aware of his mistake.] Apologies, my lady. I behave like a bitter old man.
[He shakes his head.]
My sister is a hostage. I do not think your...future lord husband would like to see her at your side. [A smile.] I am glad to have found her as well.

[ she hums in thought ]
I do not know, your Grace, my lord Father does not confide with me in politics. I know he was determined to keep the people of the Reach safe, mayhaps he had thought the manner of doing so is to help the capital against lord Stannis, the same lord that is said to be behind Renly's death. Our people loved Renly, I imagine half of them wanted to fight against Stannis out of vengeance.
[ and as for his apology she smiles, shakes her head ]
You must not be sorry, your Grace. You speak as a brother concerned for his sister and I understand. I have three brothers, myself, all concerned for my sake. As for the king he -
[ she bites her lip for a moment ]
if I may say, I had my father request my brother Loras to be put in the Kingsguard for my protection. As you have said, Joffrey was not known for his gentle hand.
sorry if this is a weird tag ;;
Robb never had a wish to become king. That crown was too big for his head and too heavy for his shoulders to bear. So he smiles and nods at her words.
From what he has heard the Tyrells are an ambitious lot. Rich, powerful and willing to do quite some things for lands and titles.]
Of course, my lady. I cannot blame your lord father for the choice he has made. [Robb figures he’d rather bend a knee to lord Tyrell to gain him as an ally than bloody lord Frey.] It is folly to make an enemy out of the King, is it not? [As much of a craven Joffrey is and as despicable his behavior is, he has a large army. Larger than Robb’s.]
At the least you were offered such a request. If I have to believe my sister’s words, no one protected her at all. [Anger flashes in his eyes, yet the rest of his face remains neutral.] I take it he has not hit you? [If Joffrey would’ve done that the boy is even more stupid than Robb has ever thought him to be.]
shush it's lovely!
[ loras would have taken both of his hands and his eyes if he had and with the tyrell men and highgarden's support, there are more reasons then just her brother not to anger mace tyrell. ]
Your sister has been the closest friend I had in King's Landing. She was sweet and kind to me, she - she told us the truth of Joffrey, she was afraid he would harm me. I know you have very little reason to believe my words, I am to be the wife of your enemy even if it is not my choice.
[ she looks up at him after a moment ]
If I were queen, my first interest would be to help Sansa. As queen Consort, I did not have such power, the Queen Regent watched my every move but if I were to be queen, I would have been free of her and I would be very keen on Sansa's happiness. I do so wish to see her happy as long as possible. It's - why I am so happy that you are here, her family. Even if we are far away, it's as it should be. I may not have anyone from my house here but I am so very happy to see Sansa well-protected.
[ she falls quiet for a few moments before adding ]
You may think me silly but I do believe there is - strength in kindness, I do so believe that and in that manner, Sansa is the strongest person I know.
this entire thread is awesome tbh
You had your family there. [Not even the biggest fool in the realm would dare to hit a lady in front of her family. But Sansa had no one. Just the lies that bloody Lannister woman told her and her mad son.
He should have been there for Sansa. For Arya. For Bran. Instead of playing the king he should have been a brother instead.]
And you could not protect her either? [He realizes that that is a question a boy would ask instead of a king. Of course she could not protect her from Joffrey’s loose hands. Finally he shakes his head and makes a small turn so they can shuffle to another part of the dancefloor.] My apologies, I should not have asked that.
[And when the lady Tyrell explains everything he feels even more like a boy put in his place.]
It is better if she remains...here, is it not? Even if I might return, she will be safe here.
[Her last words bring somewhat of a smile on his face.]
Sansa has always been raised to become a proper lady. She is fond of tales about valiant knights and love. King’s Landing should have been...a dream coming true for her. [But it is a nightmare instead.] I would’ve never want to go there. I am more like my lord father, I belong...in the North. [And rather without a crown.]
ikr chinhands
[ she lowers her eyes, smiles a little ]
I need to tell you much of Joffrey.
[ at his next words she smiles a little ]
She may be safer here, yes but she is happy not because this is not king's landing but because she has you. I know I would be happy whenever Loras was. Here - I am no longer to marry Joffrey but at the same time, I do so direly miss my brother.
[ a turn and ]
The north seems to be cold but it also breeds honest men. Would that I could visit.

[When the music speeds up Robb starts to hop a little, still looking as if he has a stick up his arse the size of a man’s fist.]
It pleases me to hear that, my lady. [All he can think of is how he let her down and that he does not entirely know how to make it up to her. It also shows a little on his face as he speaks. Regret, and a lot of it.] I hope your beloved brother will find his way to you. Or you to him.
[Despite everything he cannot help but laugh at her words.]
The North knows enough dishonest men, my lady. My lord father had to swing his great sword many times to see the king’s justice done. King Robert, that is. Just like the South knows honorable men as well. [Not much and they definitely did not belong to house Lannister, but, maybe there were some...] Have you never been there? Up North?

He is what he is made to be - there is greater cunning in the Queen Reagent, I trust.
[ how fiercely does margaery tyrell hate cersei lannister, now there is a question ]
No, your Grace, most of my days I spent in Highgarden. When I wedded Renly we have seen the cities of the Reach but I fear I never had the honor of visiting the North. I would so dearly wish it, I have never seen snow, can you believe it?
no subject
Cersei Lannister? [It does not surprise him. He has heard rumors of incest and he has received Stannis’ raven.] You have proof of that, my lady? [Because all there is are rumors.] You mislike her?
[Robb has not been fond of her either. But then again, she is a Lannister. And he despises them by default.]
I have never seen seas of blooming flowers. And I have never been able to go outside without woolen undershirts. Snow really isn’t that special. It is mostly wet and cold.
no subject
[ nothing but suspicion and mistrust. the woman would have had her head on a spike if she could and margaery is very well aware of it. ]
She does not seem to value kindness, not a bit.
[ she smiles, however at his next words. ]
No, it can be soft, I trust? and fun to play with, too. Mayhaps one day we shall land on a planet that will offer fields of flowers for you and mayhaps a few flakes of snow for me.
no subject
[Finally he laughs.]
When it is frozen you will slip and fall onto your face. It can be treacherous. Flowers and snow. I am sure there are flowers that are able to endure snow.
no subject
[ her smile is sharper, there is a jest here ]
see, if those flowers can handle themselves, surely a Tyrell lady can do the same without falling.
no subject
[The music seems to slow down a little and so does his pace.]
I would be the last one in the realm who would doubt the strength of house Tyrell.
