"That is a sad thing, my condolonces."

Misty shrugs. "It sucks, but then when your own family turns on you... well they ain't really family anymore."

Maglor shakes his head, eyes sad.

"That is still a terrible thing, for family to turn against their own."

"Yeah, well... people ain't so hot on magic where I come from."

Impulsively he reaches across to lay a hand on hers in solidarity (she might feel the scars).

"I am still sorry - family should be better than that."

Misty's surprised by the touch but she doesn't pull away, only stares at his hand for a moment.

"Thank you." For the sentiment and for reaching out. It's... nice.

Gently, she turns his hand over, palm up, to examine his scars. "I can fix these you know, if you want." She's kind of an expert on burns now.

The scars are old - criss-cross ropey contractures that look as if they have been repeatedly split (they have), and in the center of his right, the lines run almost straight, as if a facet of a great gem once pressed there.

He allows her the examination - indeed, he does not seem to feel much, with his right, although you'd never know from seeing him use his hands.

"It is kind of you to offer, milady - but I fear these wounds will never heal."

She looks back up at him, her expression soft and sympathetic. "You'd be surprised what sorts of wounds can heal, given the right attention."

He gives her a wry smile in answer.

"Even those caused by holy Light, wielded against a sinner?"

Misty’s very serious in her response, speaking with an earnest conviction and faith. “I don’t know what you did and I don’t need to know - we all got our secrets and I ain’t no saint myself. But I do know that God will forgive you, if you truly want it. You don’t have to keep punishin’ yourself.”

He smiles a little, old and tired.

"But if I do not, who will account for my victims?"

[mistyday]

"You just gotta trust that He'll take care of them too."

Though there is a slight frown developing. She wonders exactly what it was that he did to make him feel so burdened with guilt.

"I do not know if I know how to do that, milady." His smile is tired and old. "I do not know if my ghosts would allow it."

[mistyday]

"Well if you ever need a place to come pray or meditate or... anything like that, you're always welcome to come to the Interfaith Center on the Iskaulit. Doesn't matter what your beliefs are or aren't, we welcome everyone, long as they're respectful."

He smiles a litle sadly. "I will remember - although I wonder if any would heed me."

[mistyday]

"It's... hard sometimes, when you lose your way, but you gotta just keep tryin' anyway, as if someone is there."

"And what of when one come to a point whence there is no returning?"

[mistyday]

"I don't know." The furrows in her brow deepen. "I've always been able to return."

"When we left they told us we could not return." He murmurs softly. "Now after all that has passed, I understand why."

Misty tilts her head. "Well, if you can't go back, maybe it's time to make a new place."

[bythewaves]

He blinks at her shyly. "Here, you mean?"

[mistyday]

"Yeah! Why not? That's what I'm doing."

He tips his head consideringly.

"I... well. I suppose it might be possible."

[mistyday]

"Won't know 'til you try right?" She smiles. "'Least, that's what they say."

He smiles at her shyly. "I suppose that is true. It is not a chance I ever expected to have."
