I guess not. I was married to a friend of his back home and younger. I don't think he would have appreciated any...details back then.

I know. And as dumb boys go, he's not that dumb. I like Kurt a lot, Kitty. He's a good friend. I'm glad he transferred over to the ship.

I am too. It's good having family again. And I'm glad you guys are getting along. [Thinks and hopes that's good for both of them.] I'm sure he could use more friends.

I'm glad you've got family here, then. [It seems like such an abstract concept to her. She doesn't remember having family. The closest was the army, and... yeah.] Yeah, I think he could use more friends too. He's been integrating pretty well with the crew I think, once he actually started talking to people. Maybe he just needs a little more settling in time, since it's pretty different here.

Yeah. I needed several months back in the prison. Took me a little time to relax here too after the move. [And it's not like she's issue free.] And he was in it longer than I was.

I think just be honest and authentic with him which I have a hard time picturing you any other way.

I don't know why I wouldn't do those things. He's my friend. I'm not gonna lie to him.

Mmm, that one's easy. I wanted to throw him out of an airlock when he arrived. Not now. He's very different from the version of him from our world, but that's a hard thing to come to terms with. He was pretty bad back home.

Oh. Okay. So it's not fair for Kurt to not like him, but Kurt can't really help it. He needs time. And I won't bother him about it.

You got it. And for what it's worth, Hank is really really understanding about it. Probably too understanding. It's really annoying how easy he is to like. I was hoping to go for neutral avoidance. [And somehow she ended up as friends.]

I need to like... Try to talk to Hank when I'm not being firm with him about his stupid crewman. I think I freaked him out.

Oh, right. How did that go? And he's easily freaked out. [Easily, she says. She was looking at him all murderously when he arrived.]

[She shrugs.] I told him if his crewman sets foot on my ship, I'm sending him back in a fucking sandwich bag. Hank was smart enough to be able to tell I wasn't joking.

I'd probably think so too if I'd come here directly after home. The last place had all kinds of fresh food all the time. It was amazing. None of it was real, but it tasted real. Felt real. I miss the food.

Did you have to cook it? I don't really get cooking.

I think the food here is really good. I mean, I liked it when Maine would go get noodles for us or something, but it wasn't a big deal.
