[If anyone ever had a doubt that Tyrion Lannister likes to keep himself occupied, today would be the day that he put all doubts to rest. His fingers flick against the side of his camera as he is reaching for a book. Which is good, because he's got three open now. He frowns at one paragraph, then pushes off with his chair - with wheels, fascinating things these.

Then he was picking up a screwdriver, turning to a tank that looked a great deal like the displays at the Green Museum, twisting a brace into place, eying it, then rolling back across the floor to check on the panels for the engine. He picked up a clipboard, put down the screwdriver and exchanged it for pencil while he marked off a few things on a list, then pushed himself off to roll back to his desk, where he flipped a page on his second book, muttering quietly to himself.]

'This means that the center of mass of the arrow–where gravity acts–is further forward than the center of pressure–where aerodynamic forces act. This results in the aerodynamic forces helping to stabilize the flight of the arrow.'

[He tapped the page, then pushed off again to his work-table, where a variety of weapons were lying on the surface, and plucked up the bow.] Yes, all right, that means I just need to change the density of the string and curve the bow a little more for the right amount of pressure per inch... good, good.

[He hummed as he put the bow back down, and reached underneath for his toolbox, singing softly to himself as he went through the varying strings he had gathered for said bow.]

I'm malicious, mean and scary

[Clearly, Tyrion is something of a workaholic, when he gets himself going.]

[He certainly hopes that his father or sister or even Jaime does not show up here. His friends did not deserve to watch such bloodshed as Tyrion would bring on that day.]

Ah yes, delightful fellow. [He brightened a little, before he arched an eyebrow at her.] Do you know, I apparently look like some villain in his world. Man by the name of Trask, complete monster.

He... [She was going to hedge, but that's because of another man bearing his name and face back home and not the man they're actually discussing who is, well, delightful.] Yes, he is.

That's what he said. There's a Trask in my world too. Less hated. [But not getting any fanmail.] Looks nothing like you. Not sure how that's possible.

The worlds we live in are odd places - I am not surprised that in some other universe, Trask is a dwarf and some other sort of fellow. In some universe I am sure I am as tall and handsome as my brother. Infinite possibilities.

[He smiled a little, holding his hands out, as if to say, 'What can you do?']

Just when I think I have the "rules" figured out, I get a curve ball. I guess I should stop trying to find rules in places that have none.

And Hank's a good guy. I'm sure he'll fill the others from his world in soon so they don't accidentally murder you.

Yes this place does seem to thrive on more chaos than most ...

[He looked thoughtful.] I met one of them - or at least spoke to her. A young woman by the name of Raven who looked at me as if I was some sort of ... evil despot. Which, apparently, Trask is. I am quite glad everyone has straightened out this particularly awkward situation, so I do not get a blade through my throat.

I only met her recently. Well, I met this version of her recently. She's the fourth Mystique, er, Raven I've known.

[His eyebrows raise together.]

Four of them? Really? My, my, they do like to revolve them around here.

Only two here. ["Only" she says.] One I knew from home and the other I met in the prison.

Knowing who's around me makes me feel better about a situation where I have no control.

[tallasaking]

Mm. That ... I can agree with completely. [A faint sigh, as he rubs his beard pensively.] We are very suspicious people, you and I.

That's what makes us so delightfully charming? [No, probably not that.]

Well it does give us a rather rogueish air, I must say.

[passingthrough]

[That gets a laugh.] That's one of my teammate's names. Rogue.

But you're right about the paranoia. You should have seen me a little over a year ago. [Fresh to the prison and trusting no one. Not another mutant anywhere in sight.]

[tallasaking]

I believe I have spoken to her - well a version of her, before.

[His lips twitch upwards.] You should have seen me as well .. or at least I was still at that level when I first arrived. I suppose we have both mellowed to some extent.

[passingthrough]

There is a version of her here. Different than the woman I knew but still...Rogue. [She smiles slightly.]

I know I've changed a lot. I wonder how jarring it must be for Kurt since he'd remember me as I was.

[tallasaking]

Perhaps it does not matter what universe we come from - we are still ourselves, at the very core.

[He tilted his head at her.] Do you fear that?

[passingthrough]

[She looks at him for a moment without responding.] I'm closer to him than anyone. I don't like the idea of distance between us. [So yes.]

[tallasaking]

Yet you are still who you are - you have only changed in the fact that you are not as suspicious. Surely he would be pleased with your happiness? Surely you would want the same for him.

[passingthrough]

I'm not sure that's all that's changed. I don't know what all might have changed. It's been happening by small degrees over time. [She must seem different to him, but it can't be so bad. They've been close.]

[tallasaking]

Well, then I believe you have less to fear than you might have thought. To change by degrees here means he can catch up.

[passingthrough]

Only if he changes in the same ways. [They could grow apart instead of together. This isn't something she's voiced to anyone. She's not sure why it feels so easy to tell Tyrion.]

[tallasaking]

[He gives her a thoughtful look, before he kicks his booted feet against the stool.] He could. You could. But if you care half as much about him as you have cared for your other friends - I find that to be somewhere close to impossible, Kitty.

[passingthrough]

Kurt is family. [A glance.] Good family. [She loves him.]

...Are you telling me I'm a good friend?

[tallasaking]

Anyone who is truly family cannot be lost, Kitty.

[A pause, and he gives her a serious look.] To me, you are an excellent friend.
