[ they’re not kidding when they say these broadcaster things will start up the moment you start waking up. because the figure on the screen barely even shifts before it comes on, breathes for just a second or two before his eyes fly open and he’s sitting up.

because that cold chill? this bed? everything he’s seeing around him? is not right.

he surveys the room for a moment, trying to place not only himself but where that someone is watching me feeling on the back of his neck is coming from, before he turns and looks directly into the camera.

Probably not a mistake. Atroma seems to make the decisions based on what I can only assume is its own sick sense of humor or completely random die rolls.

oh um so like what's the issue with the assignment i don't know it's kind of randomized maybe like some of us got augments that really fit and other people don't so who the fuck knows but officer assignments um basically if someone puts the paperwork in, they get the job and if no one does i think someone gets randomly picked which is no way to run a ship but i think the atroma just do it because it fucks with people and then they get ratings anyway if there's anything i can help with let me know this is lieutenant wrath i'm the first officer of the windrose and yes i actually requested promotion but like i said it doesn't always work that way

[It was more chance than anything else that Wanda happened to be glancing at her communicator screen, when a certain, familiar looking man briefly is displayed on the video feed. Wanda does a double take to make sure she wasn't seeing things, but that point Sam has already switched off his feed. Wanda clicks on her own, hoping she's not about to have a case of mistaken identity with a new fleet arrival.]
