she spots Margaery, and thinks of her conversation with Winn. She wants to be a good influence on the teen, so she approaches ]
Margaery! How's it going?

[ she will close her book, the hardcover reads something about classic poetry before placing it on her knees and folding her hands primly above it. they could paint a portrait of her like this, every curl is styled and every ounce of her posture is graceful.

I hope it has found you well.

Your hair looks amazing! Did you just get it done? Can I see?

[ she turns so she could see, the silver rose pin glimmers in the light ]
no subject
The pin you have in your hair is beautiful, too. Did you buy it on the planet?

Actually, she had been enjoying the girl more and before the dance she was extremely appreciative of her help on her hair. But at the dance and shortly thereafter she heard things from other people that weren't quite making adding up with the things Margaery had told her. It made her wonder what else she was "misunderstanding" and why. Rather than confront her she fell into something of a watchful distance. Well, that and she'd become extremely involved with Winn which ate up a lot of her time.]
Drinking alone?

[ she has been reading something on her comm, a file or another but she will put it aside as she approaches, giving her all of her attention and chuckling when she realizes what she was referring to. ]
All ladies drink wine with their supper. The less savory ones break their fast with a cup. It is very common in Westeros, I almost forgot it is not so for some of the other realms.
[ she brushes a curl of blue behind an ear ]
I hardly mind it but I would always be glad for company.

What are you reading?

[ she oft thinks of the lannister woman, terrible in her schemes and plots. how poorly she would have done here without her guards and men and with no true kindness or charm to attract sympathy.
margaery does so wishes -
but that is a petty matter. ]
I am only sending word to a friend. In my realm, we send words with ravens. These are ever faster.
no subject
Texting, huh? I kind of avoid that when I can. Seems like a tedious way to talk to someone. [Without as much of the connection she likes.] I wouldn't have guessed you'd do it, but that makes sense coming from a background of sending letters. Most of our communications were audio or in-person back home.

C. some room on the Iskaulit probably; action
Riona waits inside, dressed similarly as per her instructions. There are two blunted practice swords propped up in the corner, but she seems content to ignore them for now. She'll be stretching and cracking her knuckles until Margaery arrives.]
no subject
You must forgive me for being so late, Lady Riona. I am terribly unused to these fashions.
no subject
Nothing to be forgiven for. It's nothing requiring precise timing.
[It's then she notices the blue in her hair, and she tilts her head in wonder.]
Forgive me for diverting for a moment, but is that... color in your hair?
no subject
[ she steps closer so she could see the details. the color is a vivid sky blue that seems to flatter the nut brown of her hair in an odd manner. she is smiling as she allows her to inspect it. ]
My friend Chloe dyed the ends of my hair. It looks much prettier when I wear it loose.
no subject
[Ah, but they can talk about it later.]
As pretty as it is, I did not bring you here to admire your hair. But I'm sure you've already guessed why, considering the wardrobe restrictions I've imposed for today?

Good-day my Lord.

And a good day to you, my lady. Are you prepared?

[ odd as it may be, she moves in her new clothes in the same graceful manner she does in her silks and bodices. it's more comfortable, to be certain; far less pretty, perhaps but practical and at times, a practical approach is more important than a traditional one ]
I do dearly hope I shall not bring shame to my house, we are known for our gallant warriors and skilled swordsmen.

[ Unless they're like Leto, but he's the special snowflake. He hands her the wooden dagger. ]

Did you do something with your hair?
shh you're right on time!
[ she beams at him, then rises to her feet to take a slow bow. she dusts the remains of earth from her hands before arching one eyebrow ]
Have I done something with my hair?
Re: shh you're right on time!
[ He laughed, because of course he saw that there was something different, but he liked being able to make Maegery smile and play these little games. ]
Hmm, I'm not quite sure... Maybe something with the cut? Or no, the color?
no subject
[ she glances down at the ends of her hair and smiles ]
Well then, it would appear so.
[ and then she moves to sit ]
