I will holding training sessions for those who want to learn to defend themselves or fight, and those that want sparring practice or to learn new forms of combat. This is limited to hand to hand and melee weapon use due to our surroundings.

Training will be held daily between 9am and 5pm, located at the gym on the Iskaulit although for those who are more confident in their abilities it can be moved to the obstacle course. First come first serve for those wanting tuition.

Wear appropriate clothing and bring whatever liquids or food you require for the session.


[True to her word Mystique is found at the Iskaulit gym throughout the week, and when she is not training with someone she is doing her own practice during her hours there.]

No, I have opened this up to beginners as well as those with previous training. A certain level of fitness would help, but that can be worked on if not.

That is wonderful news! Ordis would like to express interest in learning how to 'kick butt' he believes the saying goes.

That's certainly one way of putting it. Is there a particular form of 'kicking butt' that you are wanting to learn, or just something practical?

I have trained people with powers, yes. If you fall under that classification then I would prefer to know ahead of time what abilities you have so I can alter training around them.

In that case this may prove useful to you, we can see where your limits lie and work towards improving those that need it and refining those you already have. Including practice with you being able to see really good in the dark.

I don't suppose you know anything about swordfighting?

I do. What type are you looking for, a particular style such as fencing, or something more practical?

I started to learn duelling, but I didn't have much chance to get very good at it. I'd like to learn something a little more practical, though, or at least keep my skill up.

In that case, yes, I can offer you help with that. As I posted, you are welcome to meet me on the Iskaulit during those times and we can work out a schedule which will allow for on going practice.

[She wasn't actually planning to take Mystique up on her offer, but as Kitty spends a lot of her time training on the Iskaulit and ends up sleeping in with her boyfriend many morning, it was only a matter of time before she ended up at the gym in the 8 hour block her fellow mutant had carved out.]

[Currently unoccupied and by training by herself, Mystique was making the use of one of the larger sandbags propped up in a way so she could treat it like a full body target. She held a knife in her hand, having taken it from the kitchen upon the Golden and was practicing strikes that would normally be aimed at vital parts.

At the sound of approaching footsteps and Kitty's voice, she shifted her hold on the knife in her hand, letting the flat of it rest against her forearm before it seemed to vanish from her grasp and she turned to the other mutant.] For the moment, yes.

[Before asking,] Are you here to fill that requirement, or are you needing the facilities?

I was just planning to use the facilities. I can use the obstacle course if you have someone coming in. Otherwise, I don't mind the company.

Considering there's more than enough room for us both I'm sure we can use the same space without being in each other's way.

[As he entered the room, Mystique moved away from her own exercises, having set up the room as if she was going to be the only one in there and not expecting anyone to join despite her advertisement of help for others.]

Hello Hank. [Funny how many would instantly think that, bar those who had actually trained under her before.] This is just the first day, I won't be pushing you to your limits. [As for all her anger and aggression Mystique was actually damn good as a trainer. The ability to spot weaknesses and strengths in a target translated perfectly over when it came to helping others develop their abilities, so was her choice to not add niceties and call a situation as it was. Lying did not help with training, people had to know what to push for and when they were doing things wrong, but also when they were right.] I need to know what you're capable of before I can do that.

Hello, Mystique. [he even offers her a smile. Even with Raven here Mystique was still so complicated to him, and he certainly couldn't look at her the same way the others might.

He's never actually trained with his Raven, or - anyone else for that matter. This was all new territory, save for maybe jogging with a teammate every now and then back in the other world he'd been to. He takes off his glasses and sets that and the rest of what he brought off to the side as he considers her question]

I appreciate that. [especially considering he isn't all that certain what his limits are this way] I . . . mm, like I told you, everything's more - muted this way. [he looks down at his hand purses his lips] I don't really know what I'm capable of, though. I just know my strength is cut in half.

[The wry comment comes from the gym's entrance, where Kurt is standing.. above, crouched on the wall like gravity is a child's fiction. He looks fine to a cursory glance, fur being good at hiding the tightness around his smirk and featureless eyes, which themselves lend credence to the illusion. A body can't tell if eyes are bloodshot if they can't see the veins.]

[And for the very fact it was he who spoke to her, Mystique's vision did move to check the entire doorway, not just the ground level, since Nightcrawlers were known to often scale the walls. Her features stayed neutral, almost bored at his joke as she spoke.] Not yet, are you volunteering? [Oh look, she actually made a joke, even if it was said in a tone that most would take as serious.]

[Kurt tilts his head, eyes narrowing as though actually considering the offer. After a moment, he shrugs.] Why not? We could both use the exercise, and I'm certain you could stand a new rug; assuming you won. [He's hoping she feels as restless and impotent as he does; Kurt doesn't let himself trust this version of his mother with much because he can't, it's too risky. But he's fairly certain he can trust her not to break easily. With his desire for revenge thwarted, he desperately needs to hit something.]
