It does feel like I should be dressed more professionally for it, doesn't it? And maybe smoking a pipe.

I am not sure how you look with a pipe, but I admit to being intrigued.

I'm not sure either. Probably dangerous. I quit smoking more or less when I came here what with the running out and not realizing there are ways to get more. [Not that they are exactly like the ones back home, but beggars and choosers, right?] I guess quitting was a good thing. Maybe. [If someone offered she'd almost definitely take it.]

I am surprised you smoked at all. From my reading, I understand it to be unhealthy and you don't seem the unhealthy type. [His lips twitch up at the corners, as he went to uncork the wine.]

It's very unhealthy. I didn't really expect to live long enough for it to be a problem. [And...in a way she didn't.] It helped with stress. Kind of like wine. [She raises an eyebrow.]

Well, there you have it. You and I are going to be alive a lot longer than ... say, we originally have it. [He arched an eyebrow right back.] I have had a lot less wine.

[She tilts her head, looking at him.] You aren't...in the same situation, are you? [Seems like something he would have confessed alongside her.]

I'll say the same if I slip with the cigarettes.

No, but I am ... starting a war with my own country so I might be asking for trouble. [He nodded his head once, before pouring them both a little bit of wine.]

You have a point there. And isn't your country already at war? How can you start one? Won't you just be...expanding it?

[tallasaking]

Well, the War of the Five Kings is down to Two Kings. I am simply going to add a Queen.

It was at five kings at one point, huh? Must be good to be king. Well, if you survive.

Considering how kings keep dropping like flies? I would hardly agree.

Okay, but why proclaim yourself one with the odds against you unless the results justified the risk, right?

I find the only people who are willing to throw out such words are the ones with armies -- but if I have learned anything? Having an army does not make you king.

No. General at best. But I'm curious, what do you think makes a good King or Queen. [Let's not forget the ladies. You are working for one.]

What makes a good Queen, or what should make a good King, is someone who will recognize the needs of the people over the needs of themselves. Who will put aside petty power plays to protect them from the dangers of the Wall, who will see them fed and their lands at peace, so we can be prepared for the colder days to come.

How much of this did you think before you met her and how much did you decide based on how she acted?

[tallasaking]

This was well before I met her -- just comparing my sister to any Queen in history ... mostly to Lady Caetlyn Stark, however. Grace and gravity. Looking out for the people, and her own children. [He sighed quietly.] Dany is a brilliant Queen, make no mistake, but she has a long way to go before she is ideal. [His mouth twisted.] Of course, I have a long way to go before I am an ideal advisor, but here we are.

I don't know if anyone ever actually fits an ideal. That's a lot to hope for. Good to know you're both on your way though. You'll be advisor to the fleet in no time.

[tallasaking]

By the Seven's tits, can you imagine me as the advisor for the entire fleet? Robb Stark's head would explode. [He smirked a little at the thought.] As would Theon Greyjoy's -- that is enough to make me want to try.

I thought you kind of liked Robb or respected him at least. [Or maybe that's her.] And what's his deal anyway? Greyjoy's. Does he like having everyone hate him?

[tallasaking]

I respect Robb Stark - he stood up as a man when most would have buried their faces in their mother's skirts. I like less his inability to see past the nose on his face - too much of his father there. [A pause, then a sigh.] He thinks himself a Prince, and an exiled one at that. Every action he has taken to become one has been one of betrayal and blood, and his act is to distance himself from the shame and the guilt.

[She knows nothing of Robb's father, but she did feel like he was having trouble expanding his mind and world to include all the differences of the fleet.]
