[wonder of wonders, Nel is only a little bit tipsy by the time he visits the park. most of his money was blown during the first two days of visiting the Rising moon, and so he's had to keep his partying to a minimum today. after getting rejected from yet another establishment for not being able to afford what they have in stock, he finally heads somewhere he can hang out for free.

and here is where he happens upon his dear captain, and really is not shy at all about... kind of looking her over once he gets close.]

Yeah, I figure we don't know when the next time we'll be on such a sunny place will be. It's hard not to get pale and sickly looking when you're stuck in the ship all the time ...

You know... I don't know if I've ever gone tanning for real.

Honestly, I never had the time at home -- but everyone needs some Vitamin D, and we sure as hell don't get enough of it out in that awful dark nothing we're always floating through.

Yeah... we used to have this lamp thing in one of the places I lived. It was supposed to help with the vitamins you get from the sun or whatever.

[oh yeah, good thinking--using lotion wouldn't have even dawned on him. he starts obediently slathering up his arms.]

I wonder if we could get something like that for the ships.

We did just get an engineer lately. I have him working on the hot water situation.

[ Only ten minutes of hot water is basically a crime, man ]

Oh, yeah? You think he can really fix that?

[and... hmm. he gets as much of his shoulders and back as he can, but...

he holds the bottle out to her again, kind of inquisitively? he doesn't want to actually ask out loud for help. that would probably be rude.]

We'll see. Obviously the water is limited out there, but if there's a way to recycle it somehow, maybe it can work.

[ She doesn't mind! She'll sit up properly to take the bottle and get the spots where he missed ]

[he scoots over so she can help him out. gotta cover up! ...he's totally going to end up burning anyway, though.]

Yeah, something like that. After all, I think most modern cities have some kind of similar setup ... it's just a matter of getting it to fit on the ships.

Ugh... I would love to have a shower for as long as I wanted.

[oh! he turns around so she can get at his face. ...also, boy, the tips of his ears are going to burn so bad if something isn't done about them too.]
