[ Is this an actual romantic advance? Malak's surprised to find himself not entirely unreceptive. With a woman he might be more cautious. But it might be nice to be distracted. ]

And very beautiful cities.

[it's a little hard to tell if it's an advance or not. maybe he's just... really friendly. maybe the bedroom eyes are a permanent fixture.]

So not a city like this, then.

[he gestures to the moon around them--very drab, very functional. they have bits of culture in their design, yes, but nothing compared to the other two moons.]

It's planned, like this. But the buildings show off, too. And the streets are cleaner. Steeper roofs. Sharper angles.

[he extrapolates, looking at the flatter rooftops as he imagines what Malak must be talking about.]

Very.

[ The women are certainly proud. ]

Well, that's not a bad thing.

Would you like to go somewhere and talk for a while? [he gestures towards, I don't know, a bar...] I'd hate to keep you outside like this.

[treasureling]

[ His breath stops for a second. He's not sure what to do with that when it's an actual question. Is this romantic? Is it something else? ]

[it remains difficult to tell. he's all smiles as he starts walking, since he assumes that the other is going to follow him... and he will quickly find them both a seat in a nearby tavern where they can settle down and chat.]

[ And here he is, across a narrow table from someone who's just had his heart ripped out. Literally. Malak can't stop taking little glances at Robin's chest. ]

How long have you been with this... reality show?

[he notices. he doesn't say anything. he knows how strange it must be to consider--that's good, actually, since it means Malak was paying attention.]

Since the beginning of this... "Cycle", as they're calling it. About four months, now.

[the question gives him pause... but he smiles at him, warmly.]

To be quite honest, this is the least awful place I've been in a very long time.

Speaking of which, would you like a drink?

That depends.

[he leans forward a little, resting his chin in his palm.]

[ He just doesn't believe it. ]

I don't know you well enough to be optimistic yet.

[because he is doing it for a reason, even if it's small. he also knows he's not a very good person--despite whatever intentions he has right now. he smiles, all the same, pleased with how this conversation is going.]

I'll get you whatever you like. You have free will, don't you? You can refuse whatever price I might ask.

[ A pause - and he nods. He can accept that. ]

Then I'll take an ale, and you can take that risk.

[he laughs. waves one of the waiters over to ask for their drinks--he orders something with a funny name, himself, some sweet drink. his expression is nothing short of playful.]

So, you don't like trusting strangers or being in people's debt. What do you like?

Trusting friends. My daughters.

...Making doorknobs.

[ These are all true answers. ]
