[She tilts his head down enough for her to go up on her tiptoes and kiss his forehead, then finally releases him in favor of taking his wrist in one hand and retrieving her drink with the other.]

[He smiles. Her kiss is like a benediction, not one from the Herald of Andraste, or from a holy figure, but the mundane sort of blessing that he never got from his mother.

He lets himself be led away, and he smiles a bit.]

You'll have to let me go at some point, but until then, I'll drink with you. Believe it would be frowned upon if we fell sleep at the table, and I have an engagement on Adsum...best that I don't arrive reeking of alcohol, much as I'd love to drink you under the table.

Did I hear you right, we've finally been reunited and you're already making plans to abandon me?

[She lets him go only once they've reached a table so she can pull out a chair to collapse into, and once she does she puts her hand over heart.]

[He waves a waiter over, ordering himself a beer.]

You're more than welcome to stay with me here, if you wish. I have a room on this moon, and I'm certain we can work something out. Sleep in shifts, or something like that.

No don't start, I've done everything I can to keep anything resembling the world Herald from the ears of our new friends.

[Sharing a room with him would be a comfort, there's no denying that. It wasn't uncommon for her to share a tent with Dorian in the field when she was out without one of the other women, but this would be more an active choice than anything else.]

You wouldn't mind? I'd much rather be on solid ground than back in one of those ships until I absolutely have to be.

[He can joke because he trusts her. Jove is safe for him to make comments like that about- she understands him and expects nothing of the sort from him.

He takes a drink, smirking to himself.]

[She rolls her eyes, unable to keep up the act.]

Yes, you're pure as the driven snow and I'm an adorable little nug. We must keep these things straight, wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea.

[Dorian chuckles softly, leaning over and wrinkling his nose at her a bit, and takes another drink.

I take it you're enjoying the break from the responsibilities of being Inquisitor?

[When he leans over she reaches out to grip his chin affectionately, making her own face at him as she does it. He's a perfect balm for how unnerving all this is, for space and for time travel, for being ripped away from a place she was finally starting to feel comfortable with. Having him here, not having to go through it all alone, it means more to her than she could ever say.

She likely doesn't have to, though. There's no doubt he understands exactly how she feels about it, and that he feels the same way.

As soon as that word is out of his mouth, though, she's looking around to be sure no one has heard him.]

[He took a drink, and nodded to her.]

Anything that keeps questions from being asked can only be good, I think. It all sounds a little mad out of context.

But more importantly, tell me about this engagement of yours. Not getting into trouble, are you? I'd hate to have to bust one of mine out of jail.

[He smiled.]

[With a laugh, she reaches out to tweak one side of his mustache lightly.]

Alright, alright, keep your secrets. If you're so set on keeping this mysterious air of yours I won't be the one to ruin it. I do hope you'll include me if anything should get to dangerous, though.

[He chuckles softly.]

I swear that I will, if I cannot worm my way out of it. I'll have you know I'm rather adept at that- slithering out of danger.

If I recall correctly, you slither out of danger by leading it directly to me.

[She's hoping that's just a joke, because where she's at now it feels like she's on the winning path. Not much to go before the whole mess is over and done with, Corypheus on the ropes if her advisors are to be believed. That's about the only thing that's letting her take being torn away from Thedas so well.]

Go on then, tell me more about your time here. What you've been up to, what fires I may have to put out now that someone's here to take responsibility for you.

I'll have you know that I've been terribly well behaved. It's been dreadfully boring, truth be told. Nary an ill-intentioned plot or a murder for weeks.

You must be going out of your mind from all the dullness then, you poor thing. Though I am glad we've kept the murder numbers low, that is always a mess to clear up.

I make promises only about myself. There's another elf here, from Tevinter, I believe you've met him. Fenris is his name. Shortly after I arrived, he ripped someone's heart from their chest. Terribly grizzly business, it put the entire fleet up in arms.

[Well that's about the last thing she expected to hear.]

Apparently, he doesn't take kindly to slavery. Who would have imagined.

[He nearly leaves it at that.]

There were two men here, can't be any older than I am, and one was keeping the other. Fenris found out, and that was about the end of that.
