Oh, that's okay. I'm kind of, um, trample-able.

[she... starts compulsively peering at whatever book he's got in his hand, making out the title... and might already have a couple of books on magic and magical creatures in her stack...]

[Dorian looks at her stack, curiously, smiling a bit, intrigued.]

"Practical Applications of Illusionary Magic". Not the most exciting read, but better than nothing.

[He holds the book like it was something precious, something that was familiar. He spent all of his time in Skyhold reading books. Growing up, books were constant companions.]

Dorian Pavus. And you are...?

[illusion magic? that's a field she's barely gotten to study, since her magical learning was rudely interrupted by interdimensional travel. compulsively, she reaches out to try and grab his book--but stops herself at the last minute to catch her own pile again.]

[He looks over her pile of books, and sounds almost hopeful. He hasn't had a chance to speak to many mages, here. How curious if she was!]

[she... makes this distinction very quickly, because most mages try to kidnap her, absorb her powers, or study her for science. WATCH, as she puts together several seconds too late, that this guy who is carrying books about magic + asking about mages + feels an awful lot like a mage = probably not a coincidence.]

[He chuckled softly. He never quite grew used to people being suspicious, hateful toward mages, but he was aware it was a common viewpoint in the South.

Odd, that he might encounter it here, as well. He makes a little bow, gesturing with his book.]

B-But I believe you! I've met tons of people that aren't like... they are back home, already... And, I mean, I'm one of the Kithain and we can be total assholes, so I can't even judge.

[He peers at her stack of books.]

...what are the chances of being able to borrow those, as you aren't reading them? I could use something to keep myself occupied with.

Oh...! [yes, books. let's talk about books instead of making terrible social blunders.] Yeah, that sounds fine! I think I'm already going to be trading with another girl, so... [a well-meaning smile.] Maybe we can all trade when we finish our books.

Oh, how lovely, it will be like a little reading circle, hopefully with less useless propaganda as my last library.

[He's only halfway being sarcastic, for once.]

I do warn you that I am a voracious reader.
